FA.com Statement re Cup Final

Were football fans, lowest of the low in the pecking order when it comes to being treated with respect and fairness.

ITV want the later kick off as anyone watching it will tend to stay on the channel when it ends at 7:30pm and watch Britain's Got Talent or whatever shit happens to be prime-time, Saturday night viewing. So the final of the world's oldest and most famous cup competition is reduced to a warm-up show for fucking Ant & Dec and Simon Cowell. That's the real reason for this, whatever that stupid twat Horne says.

This is yet another reason why ITV shouldn't be let loose on football. Get it back on BBC who know how to treat it with respect.

TV advertising reveune will be much higher at that time than 3pm, they can dress it all they want but this is about sponsors and advertisements.

Branson doesn't normally miss an opportunity for a publicity stunt so expect some announcement soon.

Don't the BBC have Division one games on about half twelve on a Saturday afternoon?

Whatever the problems getting home after the final, I'd take those over some wank lunchtime kick off like next week every fucking time.

The FA telling us that the general public prefer early evening kick offs.

I've watched countless FA Cup finals from 1977 onwards. As a kid with friends and family, as I got older, down the pub.

I never remember ANYONE suggesting that that 5.15 would be a better time to kick off than 3pm.

What next, "Abide With Me" being binned off for "The Star Spangled Banner" as it reflects the global appeal of the game? FA are a bunch of wankers.

I don't have an issue with a later kivk off, bit more time in bed on game day and time for a fry-up etc.

Although the FA are spinning it as a better time for all fans to watch the game, they're managing to also piss off most match goers I'd imagine, From a 3pm ko no away fans would get home nor would an awful lot of home fans. I only live about 5 miles from City and wouldn't be home by then and not all fans want to go on the piss etc.

Could you repeat that in english, please.

If you don't like the kick off time then don't go..............no bigger message than an empty ground, or are YOU going to be part of the problem.

Power to the people! lol

Just seen this thread and honestly thought the OP was on a wind-up when I read that and had to check the FA site. The tone of that statement is absolutely appalling, a blatant "f*ck you" to City and Wigan fans, and true football fans in general.

"In terms of transportation, a small percentage of Cup Final fans use the method of train travel". Who the hell uses wording like that anyway? And any evidence of this "small percentage"?

It is time to either move it to after the season again or make it 3pm on the Saturday with prem league games moving to Sunday.

Ridiculous that it isn't the showpiece event
