I’ve been one of his biggest critics since that semi final v Croatia. He then surpassed that with the final v Italy. Just as he’s becoming a bit more tactically astute, we’ll probably get rid of him now. Definitely not down to him this one. Then again, his fanboys won’t admit he should have gone years ago.

I agree. Thought we played alright tonight. The overreaction to Southgate is ridiculous at times

There was no gameplan in the first half. Yet again (same in two other games in this WC) the midfield three were too far apart from each other so we couldn’t get any passing going in midfield in the first half.

Second half his subs were all wrong and the tactics after their second goal were terrible.

We went a goal up in the Euros final and then barely attacked again all game and an average Italy side got back into it and ended up being the better team, we went a goal up in the Euros semi and then didn’t attack again all game and we were hanging on at the end against an average Denmark team, we went a goal up in the last WC semi final and then barely attacked again all game and Croatia ended up being the better team and won.

He has us playing like a plucky bottom of the table quality team when we go ahead, and doesn’t proactively go after games all game.

This squad is the deepest in quality we’ve arguably ever had, they deserve a better coach.
