FA cup 4th Round draw Middlesbrough at home

"Good luck on the day. We struggled against Shef Wed we may struggle against you"

Sheff Wed done us 3-2 at home earlier this season mate. The score line was kind to us. We were 3 down until they took their foot off the gas. Our 2 goals came from the penalty spot as well.

Hope we make a game of it.

Just looking at your fixtures. This game falls in between a couple of big league games for you so that might work in our favour.

Cleavers your humour needs an element of truth and fact otherwise it just comes across as shiote craic.
It was posted with a ;o) at the end for a reason.

However if you would prefer facts (you made me go and look), and whilst 33k V Notts F (on boxing day) is good, previous to that we have....

17k V Derby
18k V Blackburn
23k V Bournemouth
16k V Norwich
17k V Watford
16k V Fulham

I could go on, but no doubt your 5500 fans will want to sing "Where were you when you were shit" at us, but you'll need to be quick to beat this season record of 1m 38 seconds in, so best you get practising :o)

Interestingly, here are our average attendances over the years.
<a class="postlink" href="http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/manc.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://european-football-statistics.co. ... b/manc.htm</a>
1994-95 (22.725) was our worst year (but the Kippax was being rebuilt that season so it's a touch false).
Seasons 1914/15 (20,205), 1927/28 (37.468) and 1928/29 (31,715), saw us top the English league table of average club attendances.

I reckon it's a decent draw (from a Boro point of view).
If i'm honest , i fully expect you (city) to go through , but it should be a decent test for us , to see how we cope against "superior" opposition.

On the Johnson subject - i was quite happy when you took him from us.
I thought he was a proper "Billy Big Boots" , and lazy too.
Only became a regular starter for us once we'd dropped into the championship.

Hope City win the league by the way - enjoy watching you on MOTD .
Really rate Edin Dzeko.

His bollocks got even bigger down here
More application and less partying would have seem him be a really good player for us and England

I expect I've had nights out in more towns up and down this land than the vast majority on this board and without question Middlesbrough is one of the worst places with a population of over 35,000 to spend an evening in England and Wales.

Port Talbot and Hanley are probably worse tbf.

What era did you enjoy the boro nightlife gdm?

In the nineties M,bro was a cracking night out. Most of the clubs have closed down now. The town centre is just slugfest now-a-days.

Anyone who was at the maine road quarter final against boro a few years ago will know all about the history between the fans, not in a good way either. Should go through,a good draw.
Quarter Final? Fifth Round last time we played them in the FA Cup at Maine Road iirc. Ian Brightwell had a goal disallowed.

I seem to recall a match at Maine Road where they smashed through the doors in the back of the North Stand and attacked the family stand being the brave fuckers they are. Order was soon restored though when the North Stand made their way up and annihilated the knuckle dragging neanderthals.

Many a comedy moment from these bastards during the '90's. I wonder if the lad staying in the same hotel as me in Turkey still thinks that Boro "have always been and will always be a bigger and better club than City."

Late nineties was the last night out there.

I did meet a father and son combo who owned a nightclub in Boro in Ibiza, in, I would guess, 2004. Interesting pair. Think they both had the same forename. I remember John Digweed had just finished his set, for some unfathomable reason. It's funny the things you remember.

The games are a week apart. I don't think that will be a factor.

It wouldn't surprise me if Boro rested players as the League is more important to you.

We played a weakened team versus Wednesday because of the Christmas and New Year fixtures, but City should be close to full strength for this game.
