FA Cup 4th round draw - Palace (a)

If you enter the FA Cup you have no choice but to play on tv as requested or you get kicked out, it is clearly in the rules. So it won't be as cut and dry as reported.

Steve Parish doesn't think its a big deal:-

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has revealed why the Eagles won't be on television in the fourth round of the FA Cup

Crystal Palace will not be shown live on television if they make it through to the fourth round of the FA Cup – but there is a reason behind it.

The Eagles face a third round replay with Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday, with the winners going through to face Manchester City in the last 32 of the competition.

But the game will only be shown live on BBC One at 4pm on Sunday, January 29 if Bolton Wanderers are successful in making it through to the fourth round, with Manchester United's match with Wigan Athletic being shown live instead if Palace make it through.

However, Eagles chairman Steve Parish has said the club turned down the opportunity for television coverage, as it meant moving the game to the Sunday afternoon and left no time to prepare for the next game, away at Bournemouth on Tuesday, January 31 in the Premier League.

I guess it's only a big deal if the tv companies make it one.

What is fixed? The Draw?

We have been drawn against, possibly, the team with the worst record of any league club in the country over the last 12 months. Prior to our current run of 5 away draws, we had six consecutive home draws.

We don't even know who we will be playing.

Why is it 'a fix?'
The draw. The scum always is drawn against lowered tiers opposition while City is always tied to premier league or at most championship clubs, innit?

Manchester City will play Crystal Palace in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Blues have been handed an all Premier League tie in the next stage of the competition, after Palace overcame Bolton Wanderers with a 2-1 win at home in their third round replay.

With the Eagles confirmed as the opposition, City’s FA Cup campaign will resume at Selhurst Park on Saturday 28 January, kicking off at 3pm.

As was revealed in the fourth round broadcast schedule, this game will not be shown live on TV.

Palace had Christian Benteke to thank for ensuring they avoided a cup upset to set up a tie with City.

The Belgian netted a brace against the League One outfit, as Sam Allardcye’s side came from behind to give their new boss his first win since taking charge.

This will be the second time Pep Guardiola’s men have made the trip to south east London this season, after two goals from Yaya Toure saw the Blues take all three points in November’s Premier League encounter.

Ticket information for the FA Cup fourth round fixture will be released on mancity.comin due course.

So CP can pick and choose but we have to go along with them changing our games willy nilly? Or is it just that we need the money?????
