FA Cup 5th Round Draw (against Chelsea Home)

he's looking old.

he's putting on the pounds.

you never go back.

pellars ignores mind games.

we're better than them.

spurs away is key. win that and the premiership is ours as the fixtures fall lovely after that as arse will be 6 points behind when we go there.

the entertainers will conquer!!!!

Football fans talk way too much about "mind games". Good managers aren't interested in what is said in the press by rivals. The reason Mourinho is talking us up is to manage expectations should they lose to us in the cup and the league. He's a clever man and he knows that we are well ahead of them, therefore he doesn't want any flack should they end the season potless. A line which served me well in business came from my old boss - "Be a hero in your delivery, not your forecasting". That's what Mourinho's doing. Don't worry about it. Pellegrini won't.

Whatever the weather, no one got pizzas out like you!

Good points - only the press and susceptible fans hang onto these pathetic mind games.

You've got it mate. Tell them it will arrive in an hour and turn up in 45 minutes. They always come back;-)

We have a game on the Wednesday before, therefore it has to be the Saturday.
It still wouldn't surprise me one bit if they try to arrange it for the Sunday afternoon match, before the 6th round draw. ITV will want it to be their show piece game, we were lucky that Arsenal V Liverpool was also drawn out, but BT will want one of the two games.

Hopefully City will make it clear that this isn't acceptable, and insist on the Saturday.

If it's the Sunday we play the reserves. No ifs, no buts. We might even do that on the Saturday.

Maureen really is a fantastic manager - unquestionably so in my view. That however does not stop me disliking him intensely. Cloughie used to call himself Brian Clough OBE (Old Big 'Ed). Maureen's ego makes Cloughie's seem almost St Francis of Assisi-esque by comparison.

Win at all costs is fine, but how many Pyrrhic victories can an army really sustain?

He may well be trying on the mind games, however I feel sure MP is long enough in the tooth to simply ignore it. Mind you, I would chortle heartily if MP is asked to respond to Maureen's "they are the best team" supposed mind game by saying "yes; yes we are. Next question."

Lovely post

better to play it on friday........play reserves against SAFC

Not a chance we will do that. Whatever the fans think, the Sunderland game is more important, and we cannot risk not getting 3 points in that.

If we are going to play a reserve team it has to be the Chelsea game.

Personally I am hoping it is sunday as I am booked on a train to Manchester Saturday day in preparation for the Barca game. I checked the fixtures and with no game highlighted I stupidly thought it must be an international week.
