I'd add Ferna and Silva to that list of starters for both.

The Sunderland game begins to worry me though... If we're still 100% at home (excepting Bayern) after these games I'll be very happy.

But need to do Spurs first and see how we go from there.

Great innit!?

Keeper and central defensive pairing could play Sat Tuesday but midfield, full backs and forwards would have to change

We are OK rotating full backs. Richards and Clichy at one time or another were regarded as our best full backs anyway. We also have cover up front. It's the midfield that's a problem as we have seen in the Blackburn and Watford FA Cup games. We'd be OK if Jovetic, Nasri, Rodwell and Milner were all match fit, but they are either injured or struggling to get up to speed

Last time a Pellegrini team beat a Mourinho team

Moaninho is already ramping up the mind games. He knows that City is a better team. Playing them twice in 15 days is going to provide challenges for both teams.

Forget about Pellers record against him. This is a City team on a mission, and Jose knows that perfectly well. In his heart of hearts he is terrified of playing us at Fortress Etihad.

I reckon Mourinho has got the better deal, got rid of Mata who he did not rate and brought in Matic and Salah. Are these two eligible for the 5th round?

Maureen's comments according to the BeeB....

"We want to play against the best team twice in 15 days," said Mourinho.
"We want to play in their stadium, the stadium where they win every game, the stadium where they smash every team, the stadium where they score four or five goals every game even against the best teams like Arsenal, Tottenham and [Manchester] United."

Brilliant, he has lost the plot, sound like the ramblings of someone on the very edge of their sanity.

Sounds more like he's trying to convince his players, with their likely reaction to being drawn against us being "Oh, for f*ck's sake, that's us out."

I don't disagree, think this mind games shit is very old hat though

I don't always agree with him but I thought he got his reaction pitch perfect from a Chelsea point of view. What else should he have said?

I think it's a good draw. Obviously it's a very tough draw but at some point we would have had to play one of the big teams. With home advantage we have a good chance of progressing and if we do win then we would probably be favourites to go on to win the tournament.

Agreed.

Easier to beat them at the Etihad rather than at Wembley. Beat them and we are through to the last 8 and only 2 matches away from another final, with our biggest rival eliminated. Go out and we can concentrate on the league and let them worry about extra matches. It's really a no lose either way.
