FA Cup Final loss in 1981 or Luton 83?

Was at all 3 games and definitely Luton, to make it worse 2 weeks later the rags beat Brighton to win the fa cup.

1981 by some distance. Luton was not unexpected in that fatalistic "typical City" style. But the atmosphere on the Kippax that day was utterly toxic. It's the hope that kills you.

81 the worst for me. I supported Liverpool after that and then Utd from 1992-2012 so Luton 1983 didn't bother me.

I went to the 81 final, don't remember much about it. Didnt enjoy the replay watching on the tv.

But for me it's got to be Luton the sight of Pleat running across our Maine Road pitch. That image is stuck in my brain.

I was 7 for the 81 cup final so although remember watching it there was no real pain felt.

The luton game was the first time city made me cry. I just couldnt accept that that was it, we were down. I was sat in platt lane with dad and it was a speedy exit at the end.
Went home , lay on the sofa and cried my eyes out.

It was ok in the summer though as we signed derek parlane and jim tolmie and i saw no reason why we wouldnt win the 2nd div, 1st div year after and the european cup after that.

Ps the next time city made me cry was aguerooooooo
