FA Cup Final - Post Game thread

We've seen these inexplicable ineffectual, lacklustre performances from us before. Generally sometime in the first half of a season.
It happens to all.teams. It's why you get title contenders losing to relegation fodder.
It's the beauty of football, and sport in general.
Our players are human - not robots - sheer law of averages means stuff like this occasionally happens.

Interesting to read some of the comments - particularly about being out on the lash/not really caring/not taking an FA cup final/derby seriously - I'm not sure how much of that is true but if any of it is then I think we that spent 300 quid plus going to Wembley today are entitled to feel disappointed (not with the season as a whole - just today's game)

Just this second got back it's been a very long and difficult day but putting things back into perspective we have just won four in a row and it was a bad day in the office. Parade tomorrow then Pep can do his magic next season.

Yeah, but it usually happens before the final. Once you get to the final, the better team really should be turning up. All the motivation you need is there. If we'd spent the whole game peppering their goal and the goalkeeper played a blinder and they'd won with a lucky breakaway, then fair enough. But that was shite.

The lid of the intense pressure cooker of the needing to win to win the premier league was lifted and we couldn’t recreate that intense desire. We celebrated too soon. The main job was done but to the fans, beating these at Wembley was important. It was not to be sadly and our intensity was nowhere near where it has been in recent weeks. A great achievement winning the league but tinged with a bit of disappointment today.

Just got back in, a proper lacklustre performance today numbed by the number of pints I'd drunk from 9am onwards. Nobody deserves a motm everybody well under par and Pep deserves shit tonight for fucking up with the back four, why oh fucking why play Stones and Ake as a centre half pairing for the first time ever?
Haven't a clue why he played both Stones and Ake as his centre back pairing.
If he played Ake instead of Gvardiol ok.
If he played stones instead of Dias or Akanji OK.
But to drop both centre backs, who had a understanding with a reserve keeper, was only asking for trouble.
