FA Cup Final - Post Game thread

Yes, that's right. The reason we lost today was because Abide with Me was sung? We won the league, four years in a row! Yes, we lost today and we were awful and it was to them lot! Disappointing? Yes! But some of us are coming across as spoilt and entitled, something we acuse them of being! Seriously, you may not like tradition, others do. But let's not sound like Herr Klopp, the grass was too long, it was too windy, they played Abide with Me!
WTF are you on about?

We lost because we did not turn up.

But what the hell has that got to do with questioning the tradition and quality of the FA Cup competition?

Yes, it was a mistake playing Stones and Ake. We needed Akanjis pace. Pep put that right at half time and also by taking Kova off allowed Stones to venture forward in the second half. Dokus introduction meant that two uitd players were needed to handle him. We scored one and we didn't get many breaks in the utd box. Had they only been one up at half time, I feel we would have won. Pep admitted that he had made a mistake and was probably surprised that utd played with a false no 9. When the changers were made we were all over them but they had something to hang to.
We are a magnificent football club and will be involved in everything, again, next season. I love this club.

We beat West Ham on Sunday and the drinking went on until at least 5am on Monday morning. A ridiculous way to prepare for a Cup Final on the back of a long, hard season. Why couldn't they do the drinking celebration tonight ?
I'm a fairly regular drinker, and staying up until 5am would write me off for at least 2 days!

These lads don't drink, so to have a binge like that might hit them even harder.

All for them having a few beers etc but thought they could have saved the celebrations until after the parade as they tend to have a do following that.

Anyway, it may not have changed the result anyway, but we've certainly given ourselves an excuse, albeit a poor one.

My favourite today was pipsqueak barging Haaland in the back as he's about to head it goalwards described as "great defending". Then not shown a replay of what was a clear penalty shout as VAR quickly dismissed it in the refs ear.

The fact Stones, KDB, Foden and a couple of others looked like they were already on holiday didn't help much.
I thought before kickoff why are we starting with nobody in wide attacking areas and Kova as extra protection.

Oh and Shearer was a fucking massive bellend. Particularly creaming himself over uniteds 24% game dominance denying his beloved Toon a European spot, he can get fucked.
Shearer always has and always will be a wanker. He‘s a rag cocksucker in a faux Geordie outfit. recall before the 6-1 he gave it large bout how City would fair when they met a real team etc etc well we saw how that turned out. ****.

Appreciate you defending them mate, but even if we take him at face value and they were only drinking on the Sunday and presumably until the early ours of Monday morning. Monday and Tuesday are a total write-off. Even if mentally you're coming around on Wednesday physically you aren't. Need to sweat all the alcohol out and have a gameplan for the final. Travelling down to London on top of that. It's terrible preparation.

Completely disagree with him about them being athletes too as though it shouldn't effect them. Clubs all have nutritionists, psychologists and dieticians for a reason. I'm sure they weren't too keen on the idea of going out on the lash. The players live their lives that clean usually that it probably effects them more in fact.

They might not put it down as an excuse, but I will. I'm 100 percent convinced if we are in the same position next season that won't happen as they fucked up. It isn't the sole reason we lost, but it definitely had an unnecessary impact.

Yep, more we lost it than the Rags won it. We only concede three kinds of goals - cock-ups or worldies, and occasionally a bit of crisp passing will do us as we've all gone up to get a goal bar our stickman.
Said at the game yesterday, midway through the first half before they scored, that we are our most dangerous opponent.

I don't really enjoy Wembley visits these days even when we win. The day is too long and draining, the area a total shit hole and it costs a fortune. Yesterday's may be my last I fear.
Got to admit to thinking the same. I still can't believe that the 'national stadium' was rebuilt at the back of an industrial estate in a scruffy north London suburb with poor road access, rather than just off the motorway network in the Midlands.
