FA Cup QF Draw | Newcastle (H) | Sat 16 Mar 17:30

Given the fact we have to play on Saturday as the rags have to play Sunday then a late afternoon ko is the only option (can't do a 12.30 due to live rugby already showing) unless the TV want us on at 8.00pm. 5.15 / 5.30 ko also means the Geordies can catch a train back if they wish with the last direct train to Newcastle leaving Victoria at 21.45.

I reckon it will be 5.30 (or around then) so the Geordies don't get fucked over again with no trains home.

I thought the 6 Nations were playing at 2:15, 4:45 and 8pm on that day. Arguably 12:30pm is the best to avoid them (if that's what they are thinking) because the 2:15 game is Wales v Italy and they're the bottom 2 at the moment.

Not that I care. I actually think it will be 5:15/5:30.

The rugby doesn’t start until 2.15, so they could in theory have a lunchtime kick off finished in time for that. Assuming no ET.

Hope not though. And I’d imagine they’d prefer a later kick off themselves anyway.

TV audience which is all they care about will be bigger at tea-time or in the evening so, it'll be 5.30/7 or 8.45.

The BBC won’t give two fucks about going against the Ireland v Scotland Rugby match on ITV which starts at 4:45. However they probably wouldn’t want to clash with the England v France match at 8pm so 5:30 is looking pretty much nailed on if it’s a Saturday.

Btw, not dissing the Ireland and Scotland teams as they’re both above England in the 6 Nations table, I’m just saying they wouldn’t want English football to clash with English Rugby.

Leaves them free to schedule the usual evening shite the BBC churn out on Saturday night.
