Why does a rugby game matter? Who watches that shite? Southeners and sheepshaggers

It doesn’t matter in the slightest to me.

But the BBC has that little live sport these days that I’m pretty sure they won’t want two of the things they have still got, on at the same time.

BBC’s Six Nations game is the 2:15 kickoff so they couldn’t put football on at that time even if they wanted to.
The two later rugby games (4:45 and 8:00) are on ITV.

So the BBC wouldn’t put our game on at 12:30? It can take around 2 and three quarter hours for a match that goes to extra time and penalties, even a 12 noon kick off would encroach on the Rugby game if our game is extended.

Thinking about it, if they did want it on at lunchtime , they’d probably have to have it kick off about 11.30 to ensure it was all over by the 2.45 blackout if it went to ET.

So hopefully, it rules that out of their thinking.

BBC has live rugby on with a 2.15ko and there is no way they will have football on before it and not have any pre match waffle. An 11.30 ko with no extra time would be ok, but they can't risk it hence why I think it will be a late afternoon / early evening ko.

Given the fact we have to play on Saturday as the rags have to play Sunday then a late afternoon ko is the only option (can't do a 12.30 due to live rugby already showing) unless the TV want us on at 8.00pm. 5.15 / 5.30 ko also means the Geordies can catch a train back if they wish with the last direct train to Newcastle leaving Victoria at 21.45.
Will the trains be actually running!!!

It is basically going to be a Friday night KO, a Saturday 5.15/5.30 or an 8pm KO

I’m sure you’re right. The only possible reason I think they’d be even considering lunchtime, is if plod were kicking up a fuss.

But they were happy for the league game to be 8 pm on a Saturday, so even with increased away fans, I can’t see that really being an issue.
