Bristol City were in the old 1st Division back in the late 70's / 1980

Yeah and comparative backwaters like Burnley, Bournemouth, Oldham, Wigan, Bradford etc have all been the PL
Bristol is a much bigger city than all them places

Wouldn't mind going to another FA Cup final. It'd be my fifth. Well; four and a half, I suppose. Saw the draw in '81, but not the replay, unfortunately. Along with Stoke, Wigan and Watford.

Same with me but I went to both in 81 and was in London for 1969 while my old man went and mam took more to see a cartoon at the pictures. Stoke best day of my football supporting life.

Maybe just predated his time there?

He was there from 1969-1980 (according to Wikipedia). I remember him playing for BCFC against Leeds in the FA Cup c. 1974 at Ashton Gate.

I was very lucky in that my Dad managed to get 2 tickets for the 69 Final off an employee at Maine Road.
We went down to London on a coach from Middleton.
My younger brother (who was 10 at the time) couldn't go and he still goes on about it now,54 years later.
