FA Cup re-jig?

FA Cup should be played as follows:

3rd round Boxing Day
4th round New Year's Day
5th round Easter Weekend
6th round April sometime
Semi May Bank Hol
Final End of Season

3rd and 4th rounds should be restricted to Under 23 age groups for Premier League teams. This will enable top players to go on a Winter break. Will also encourage clubs to invest in Academies/younger players. 3rd and 4th rounds also seeded so Prem League clubs play AWAY from home.

I like that idea, but a bit of a pisser if you get knocked out in 3rd round, they are great New Years Day games........mind you imagine being drawn away in London say in 3rd then having to go to London again say a week later you'd be a bit pissed off if you travelled away, plus Xmas, money etc mmmmmmmmmmm sounded good at first glance, now I ain't too sure lol

Yes granted. But it's better than going to London midweek as is being mooted. I think it is an incentive for all 92 clubs. The lower clubs stand a good chance of a plumb home tie with a better chance of qualifying further due to U23 restriction for Prem sides.

Reducing the amount of games is a good idea, what they should obviously do is eliminate the pointless international friendlies throughout the year shift and then shift the midweek games that are shoehorned into the fixture list to those weekends and have the FA cup keep their own weekends with no other fixtures to be played on that day aside from re-arranged games. This is the most logical thing for them to do but of course, international games bring big money to the FA so that's never going to happen.

Don't want them to get rid of two legged carling cup semi finals either, i enjoy them and they're different from the norm.

And that is exactly what they would do.
"Warm weather training" is what they call it ;o)

I'm not arsed about replays, so if they're scrapped I won't lose any sleep, but if they moved it all midweek, then it would be the end of my participation in it.

I like the FA Cup, and try to get to as many ties as I can, I've done all the ties so far this year, but I'm boycotting Sunday as I feel we were deliberately shafted by the FA/MUT.....sorry BBC, and I want no part of it, in the unlikely event we get through, I'll attend the 6th round if I can, unless they do it again obviously, which wouldn't overly surprise me.

The lower league clubs need replays to survive. If this is actually going to go ahead then I think non premier league clubs need to be compensated in some way.

exactly its the smaller clubs especially non league who I feel sorry for , its what being in the fa cup is all about for them managing to get a replay at a premiership club , the FA haven't really got a clue have they ?

We know they won't be offered anything. It's not how clubs operate. See Arsenal, Dippers, Rags and the FFP rules.
