Tremendous following today.
Am i wrong i thinking that is a gently word pop at us?Whatever the numerous and some valid reasons for the shortfall in support today, I have a feeling that Pep and possibly the players feel ‘slighted’ by it. I’ve just read Peps post match comments where apparently, he said ‘Our fans will come, more than today, for the final’. If he wasn’t arsed by the imbalance in support, he wouldn’t have mentioned it. Personally, I thought those that were there did their bit.
Not in the least mate. I saw Pep’s comments and it struck me he was making a point, otherwise, he wouldn’t have even mentioned the support.Am i wrong i thinking that is a gently word pop at us?
Brilliant postThere’s a world of difference between Liverpool and City core support
There’s only Utd & Liverpool in England who have the volume of supporters countrywide who can be relied upon to snap up any tickets
Spurs Chelsea & Arsenal have the London tourists to pick up the slack whereas City are mainly a localised fan base and simply haven’t picked up any meaningful tourist support in this country yet. Tourists in the north west will still go to Liverpool & Utd first as that’s where the history is.
At City it’s generally the same people who are going to all the games, the away games especially with the loyalty points making getting tickets very difficult for new or younger supporters but the city is a relatively poor one so it’s understandable that people have to start picking and choosing the games they go to
I’ve spent over £8k this season just on tickets travel and accommodation,it’s a very expensive hobby
I think there should be more understanding on why there are so many empty seats, the average working man just can’t afford to go to every game
I’m at Wembley Saturday ticket & train £120
Spurs on Tuesday ticket & train £140
Palace next Sunday ticket & train £110
£370 in a week on just tickets & travel
Exactly. 1999 semi replay at villa park had a total of 30k there at the height of their Reign. Funnily enough it’s never mentioned....
That’s very true. At the moment we’re not attracting casual fans at the rate that the team is getting better. People don’t like “tourists” but that’s what it takes to sell out these sorts of games. There’s a world of difference between Liverpool and City core support

He’s done it more than once. But they’re never going to truly get it, having never had money issues.Am i wrong i thinking that is a gently word pop at us?

I remember catching the tube to the 2011 community shield match. I was early so not many on when it left central London. A few city fans a similar number of United fans. By the time it reached Wembley Central it wa packed with United fans,, with London accents, all travelling a very short distance to the game. We just don’t have that many fans outside of Manchester yet

If only we could sing as loud in the stadium as the concourse. Although have to admit Wembley is a shit ground to get any songs going except for chants like blue moon!
I’d rather not sell out than have the plastics follow us because that would set more of us back more money than we’re already paying as it’ll justify further price rises. That’s very true. On the tube back into London had a Brighton fan giving it "your support is shite, winning 1-0 and you don't even sing also where were you when you were shit"
I gave him some feedback.

Our support needs to realise that singing:If only we could sing as loud in the stadium as the concourse. Although have to admit Wembley is a shit ground to get any songs going except for chants like blue moon!
Our support needs to realise that singing:
Blue Moon
The Best Team In The Land
We Love You City
We’re Not Really Here
Ci-ty Ci-ty
Come On City
etc.
Is what everyone will join in with.
Not trying to get Bernardo going eighteen times in ten minutes and Empty Seats At Home fifteen times a half.
We’re a bit clueless when it comes to what songs to sing and when.
Yesterday, Gabriel Jesus scored from a de Bruyne cross and three parts of Level 1 tried to get the Bernardo song going within ten seconds of each other and none of them took off. Bernardo isn’t the song to sing at that moment and it’s no surprise that people don’t join in, especially as we’d already sung it three times in the first three minutes and about ten times in the concourse before the game n’all.
Sing the core songs and everyone will join in.
And stop being so obsessive with singing new chants over everything else.
Most are EX cockneys, who move to Brighton mate,,On the tube back into London had a Brighton fan giving it "your support is shite, winning 1-0 and you don't even sing also where were you when you were shit"
