FA Cup Semi-Final Post Match thread

I went & took my dad (last time we went was Full Members)

Really enjoyed the day out, although I've no finger nails left towards the end! Got my photo taken with Pete (from the terrace legend thread)

Does anyone have a download link of the ITV coverage, I'd like to watch it again?

Thanks.

Dont get this Foy thing - he missed the Aguero stamp agreed but other than that he got everything right - Yaya was a possableible pen and so was Torres BUT to the credit of both players they stayed on their feet and gave nothing, had either of them gone over then he would have had a decision to make.

We need to move away from this crap that any contact in the area is a pen - tTorres remained on his feet regarldess of what Kompany did or did not do and Yaya managed to get a shot off regardless of him being clipped or not.

It does however clearly demonstrate why players are all too ready to go to ground and force the ref to make a decision

It was an excellent game yesterday both sets of players gave everything - compare what we saw yesterday to the fortchcoming CL games and watch Barca players falling all over the place at the mearest touch

Aguero apart - Foy was pretty good yesterday and ALL the players were a credit to their clubs and the competition.

Actually, I thought the 'foul' on Yaya was outside the 'box, comfortably. he took a couple of his huge strides before getting his shot off well inside the box.

The only thing that annoyed me yesterday was constantly playing "stand up, sit down".

I'm happy enough to stand up throughout the game. I'm happy enough to sit down, as long as there isn't anyone stood up in front of me blocking my view.

I just dont see the point in sitting down if, every time City get near their penalty area, everyone stands up. Up.down, up, down. Does my head in.

You can't do that to a striker in on goal in the box with no intention of getting near the ball. If Torres had made a meal of it, or if it had been another referee - that could easily have been given. He otherwise officiated well, but he let City off with a lot of cynical fouls (because he was letting the game flow as much as possible). I suppose that's a trade-off I can live with because the game wouldn't have been as good if he had stopped for everything and that was the best game I've seen this season. Worthy of the FA cup.

I don't begrudge it as I said earlier and the match shouldn't be about those calls. If we had dominated 2/3 of the game and lost with him missing those calls, I'd be upset about it - but as it stands City were just better overall. I don't know why Aguero lost his cool but that was the only incident I'm not happy about. Even so, banning him now makes it slightly easier for Spurs so I hope they let him off.

Give him the pen, he'll balloon it anyway ;)

Actually to balance the incident, while it could easily have been given Torres was also bullied too easily. If Ba had that chance I think it would have gone differently and he'd have at least taken a shot from it. I think Aguero would have made something of it as well. Once Torres was being pulled he just gave up and let it roll out of reach.

I think it was 60/40 Vinny pulling and tugging Torres, but Torres started trying to shove Vinny away to gain an advantage and Vinny responded, although i agree some refs would have given it.

Wrong decisions by some players when others were better placed,ie James Millner and Ya Ya[to Zab] when we broke made the game more nervy than it should have been.It has been our downfall all season, not being clinical enough and it could have cost us yesterday. We should have gone in at half time 2-0 and just before Chelsea scored it should have been 3-0.It never happened,Chelsea scored and it was finger biting time!

At some point a team like Chelsea are going to have a spell with all the quality they posses and thankfully we hung on in there.

The worrying thing for me was our lack of fitness at the end, considering Chelsea had travelled and played in Russia on Thursday they looked a lot fresher than us.

Anyway job done, hopefully we finish it but we underestimate Wigan at our peril and the whole country will be behind the underdog as well!
