FA Cup Semi-Final Post Match thread

The only thing that annoyed me yesterday was constantly playing "stand up, sit down".

I'm happy enough to stand up throughout the game. I'm happy enough to sit down, as long as there isn't anyone stood up in front of me blocking my view.

I just dont see the point in sitting down if, every time City get near their penalty area, everyone stands up. Up.down, up, down. Does my head in.

Have to say the same thing happened to me. That said the guy infront was very funny which made it bearable. We were sat near the press enclosure and he spotted the rag who I think writes for The Times who was sat with Custis and Beasley. Well he went for them big time when we scored and gave it to them all match. Beasley looked like he'd just been told he'd got a dose of clap when Sergio scored.

Give him the pen, he'll balloon it anyway ;)
Actually to balance the incident, while it could easily have been given Torres was also bullied too easily. If Ba had that chance I think it would have gone differently and he'd have at least taken a shot from it. I think Aguero would have made something of it as well. Once Torres was being pulled he just gave up and let it roll out of reach.
It was a nailed on pen, and we were lucky to have 10 on the pitch at the end. If everyone on here was being totally honest they'd admit that, as far as the ref was concerned, we got away with it. I still think over the 90 mins we were the better team.

That would be annoying. Everyone around us stood throughout, much better.

We had 3 'european' men in our block who for the last 10 minutes thought it was acceptable to pose using the barrier above the 2 sets of stairs on either side doing the cringeworthy knee up, peace sign etc rather than watching that ridiculous last 10 mins, I was absolutely fuming tbh and would never normally say anything but he got it both barrels as i doubt they were blues anyway the way they were carrying on, if you are gona be an ignorant fucker please don't do it blocking my bastarding view!

Watched the extended highlights on <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.mcfc.co.uk</a>

At the time when I heard Yaya was MOM I was thinking no Zab or Barry, but had to re-think that Yaya was unplayable. There's no one like him in the game. Unique. Most of our best moments came from Yaya running at their defence like a train. They had no answer to him

Should have won by more than the one goal, but you must take your chances when you are on top. As has been commented above we did get away with it in the end, but were at the same time much the better team

Did anyone think the announcer was a Chelsea fan just listen to him when he says Ba is the goal scorer.

Dont get this Foy thing - he missed the Aguero stamp agreed but other than that he got everything right - Yaya was a possableible pen and so was Torres BUT to the credit of both players they stayed on their feet and gave nothing, had either of them gone over then he would have had a decision to make.

We need to move away from this crap that any contact in the area is a pen - tTorres remained on his feet regarldess of what Kompany did or did not do and Yaya managed to get a shot off regardless of him being clipped or not.

It does however clearly demonstrate why players are all too ready to go to ground and force the ref to make a decision

It was an excellent game yesterday both sets of players gave everything - compare what we saw yesterday to the fortchcoming CL games and watch Barca players falling all over the place at the mearest touch

Aguero apart - Foy was pretty good yesterday and ALL the players were a credit to their clubs and the competition.

Actually, I thought the 'foul' on Yaya was outside the 'box, comfortably. he took a couple of his huge strides before getting his shot off well inside the box.

Oscar's trip on Ya Ya was about a yard outside, it was from behind and it certainly denied a clear goalscoring opportunity as the Chelsea cover had been pulled out of position to cover other City players, resulting in the hole Ya Ya ran into. By a strict interpretation of the rules...

Oh, quite agree. There was a good claim for Foy to have pulled the play back after Yaya had cleared the bar, but I suppose he adjudged that he'd already played the advantage.

I agree that it was dubious, but I also have a hard time complaining at all about calls we didn't get. Chelsea were certainly not done any favors yesterday. On another day, with another ref, we're livid about how we managed to let a game we were dominating slip away. This footy is funny stuff sometimes.

Makes me very glad that I don't sit near an entrance at the Etihad, people constantly going in and out for food/piss/drinks would drive me to murder. Constantly leaning or standing to make way for people that can't control themselves.
