Let's hope he plays a stormer and makes us all eat our words of the last few weeks. I'd certainly be happy to be made to eat humble pie.

I agree, bold move indeed. We all know Mendy's ability as a wing back, and his crossing ability is excellent. I just hope he can get fit and stay fit. Oh, and he need to realise he is primarily a LB, and not get caught out of position when teams counter attack. The jury is out on Mendy's defensive ability, and I'm yet to be convinced thus far.

I might be wrong but I get the impression Mendy got the nod today because it’s our easiest remaining fixture. Come the CL or League, it’ll be one of Laporte or Danilo playing there. This is just a nice opportunity to play him.
