It detracts from the final too. win the semi and you don’t get that rush that you’re going to watch City in the cup final at Wembley as you’re already sat in the stadium.
Again, I totally agree with you. But what can we do. waste our energy on more pressing matters maybe and enjoy a trip to Wembley. The rush has kind of gone anyway as we have been there 18 times in the last 10 years. I guess I'm just convincing myself not to take a trip to Wemberleee for granted!

Hope you have a good day out. I’m away that weekend anyway, but stopped doing Wembley semis a while back.

I can't believe this needs to be said but it's not supposed to get 60,000 people to Wembley.

It's supposed to replace the trains effected by the maintainance works.

An 11 carriage Avanti train carries 500 people. The buses are going to move 5,000 people. So 10 full trains. Lime Street to Euston is hourly, so fans would probably be on the 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 oclock trains, any later than that and you're not making kick-off. Piccadilly to Euston is more common but 5 full trains worth of people from the FA plus the 2400 fans the club have organised transport for should get most down there.

They aren't supposed to be replacing travel for every fan who would driven, gotten a train from elsewhere in the country, gotten a bus which would have run anyway.
Yes very good and I do not disagree other than the figure is just under 600 per train.

Also you have not factored in that these trains are usually overbooked especially where football fans are concerned so the number of fans on the trains would be higher.

Well that's my transport to Wembley sorted out.
LNER train from Wakefield to King's Cross and back for £52.
Leaving at midday ,into KX for 14.01 hrs gives me 90 minutes to get to Wembley.
And return leaves at 19.33 hrs so plenty of wriggle room to account for any extra time and penalties if needed.
Back in Wakefield for 21.30 hrs and I should be back in Manchester an hour later.
Sorted.
Just my match ticket to pay for now.
Um - 1933? If you leave at half time you might just make it?

Well thats one hurdle negotiated, next one is when will they despatch tickets?
We are lucky enough to be going to Madrid on the Tuesday and staying in Madrid until flying back to London on Saturday morning. If the club do monitor these pages please take note, we need our FA Cup semi final tickets IN HAND before we leave for Madrid. I'm sure there will be plenty of other fans doing the same !
