FA Cup SF | Liverpool | Sat 16 Apr 15:30 | Travel, Ticket & Pub Discussion

If you mean a generational change in society I'd disagree. I'm going but a lot of Blues I know in my age range (67) seem to be swerving this match for various reasons, most of which have already been aired on this thread. I'd throw in some sort of post-pandemic apathy that I've sensed in their comments too.
I’m going too but I’ve been picking and choosing my away games this season more than I’ve ever done in the past 32 years as a ST holder. I’ve done Brentford and Peterborough as they were both new grounds for me, and Leicester, United, Burnley, and the semi-final and that’s it. I could’ve stretched to a few more away games on top of that but a combination of rail fares going through the roof, getting stuff done on the house, and 3 holidays to pay for would’ve meant it was a bit irresponsible to go to more. I’ve also got to factor in a possible CL final and all the costs associated with that too. Although not a FA Cup final as if we get through, I’ve found out in the last week that Steve Coogan has re-scheduled his Alan Partridge gig at the Arena (which I have tickets for) to the night of the FA Cup final. The twat!

I'll get slaughtered for this, but I'm not going out of principal, like many City fans.

I refuse to be a continual cash cow for the FA and Wembley.

FA Cup semi-finals should not be played at Wembley. Especially when they involve 2 North West teams 35 miles apart. Old Trafford would have been ideal for both sets of fans.

That aside. The FA knew 18 Months ago about the railway works. But they ignored that and still decided to hold the semi-final at Wembley.

The FA can f*ck off! They're not having my money, time, and inconvenience. I'll save that for the FA Cup Final.(and the CL Final) ;-)

For those of you going, I sincerely hope you all enjoy the day and the result. :-)
Get yourself a ticket and get down to Wembley. You know you want to

11 years ago wasn't our umpteenth time at Wembley for a semi final with rising energy and travel costs. I couldnt have afforded it 11 years ago and i cant now. If youre lucky enough to afford it then keep your mouth shut slagging fellow blues but sing and shout support for the best team in the land and all the world during the game. You will get to have a great experience and feel morally superior on the coach ride home whilst the rest of us hope for a home tie in the early rounds of the league cup
Free coaches

Failing that, megabus £22

Think hes just trying to persuade those that can't be arsed?

Not picking a fight Ginger, but I doubt very much it isn't City fans who can't be arsed.

The vast majority of us old b@stards like myself who aren't going have done the miles over the years when City were sh*t, and since Sheikh Mansour bought City. And yes, I did go to York away. :-)

The World has changed. COVID, rising living costs, greed (the FA), treating fans like sh*t, City being successful, meaning games and travel expenses are coming thick and fast, etc. Couple them all together and it's taken a toll on City fans. And football fans in general.

Years ago you wouldn't think twice about not going to a cup semi-final, if you had an opportunity to go, but not anymore.

A couple of years ago I went part-time at work. My Mum past away, God bless her, and She left me her house. I didn't have a mortgage. My part-time wage then covered my outgoings, not anymore. I've applied to go back full-time where I work. I've been eating into my savings just to live, even though I've cut my outgoings to the bone.

Something has to give. I've made a choice. An FA Cup semi-final, or a FA Cup Final or a CL final? Possibly neither of them. I'll take my chances and wait for a final.

Unlikely , but if we have a couple of thousand tickets left what happens to them ? Do the club or Wembley sell them to ticket agencies and risk Dippers buying the unsold seats , if they do it will be carnage. Would rather see a few empty seats than a ruck with a scouser....................there again :)

of course they won’t. They’ll just be empty.
