What did Villa and Leicester fans do to take liberties? I went both and never seen any issues or any fans trying to take the piss.
The villa fans near the tube were kicking off at anyone insight. It's clear they were asking for trouble, but most blues either had kids with them, or just laughed

I agree. Too much scaremongering on here whenever there is the slightest possibility of trouble and although there will probably be a lot of tension around this game and possibly more than the usual amount of handbags that you get these days, the idea that there is ever serious trouble at City games is ridiculous. Rags semi and charity shield maybe but even that was hardly large scale disorder. I know that occasionally a few innocent people and families get picked on or attacked but ‘twas ever thus and it’s hardly a reason not to go. Problem nowadays is YouTube and the Chinese whispers on social media means the slightest thing gets blown up over all proportion.

Lets get down there and support the team - i’d Be more concerned about missing the kick off sat on a National Express coach
Most of the trouble seen at Wembley is between city fans themselves after too many sherbets and too much sniff.

I thought from reading the news that there were no trains into London from Manchester. There are, you just go by Leeds or Sheffield. That's 50 minutes. I don't mind doing that because I'll sleep anyway. Not ideal but not a deal-breaker. I am an idiot for taking the news at face-value, or mis-reading it in the first place.

Getting down there is ok if inconvenient.

If the K.O is 5pm ish as usual try getting home via the east coast mainline in time to get over to Manchester from Leeds/Sheffield.
If it goes to extra time it seems impossible on the Saturday. Last train to Leeds that connects to Manchester goes at 20.30 from Kings Cross.
And if it finishes in normal time and you make the train then everyone will be trying for the same one.
And then the same one train from Leeds.

If it's Sunday Trans Pennine are on strike so getting back from Leeds/Sheffield is a nightmare as well.

At the very least they should play at 3pm or.4pm latest so we can actually get home via train.

one of the problems though, some of the trains we would be getting on to get to leeds or sheff would be coming from liverpool, unless they actually start at manchester, plus, the trains from leeds or sheff going to london would be full of both sets of fans
Manchester to Sheffield line starts at Piccadilly. Lime St to Leeds might have a few Liverpool on it. Does that matter?

if there are trains cancelled because of strikes then that's a problem but train enquiries shows they are timetabled.

Thankfully just a 40 minute train ride for me. Mind you i think it will be full of plastic dippers.

Would conductor strikes cancel trains? The trains are still timetabled?
They'll run a few trains as some managers are trained up and can work them as a temp conductor. But they won't announce which ones running until nearer the day.

But it'll be a limited service and they advise you not to travel at all.
It'll be a shitshow if it's 5pm kick off either day.

I think your part of the minority not seeing anything against Villa. They were mouthing off left, right and centre, I had a whole row of them behind me in our end. They were picking fights with small groups of City fans outside the stadium,I seen it in various occasions, I had plenty of arguments with them trying to defend our club and support. Horrible lot!!
They wouldn’t have been as cocky 10 years. Leicester fans simply outnumbered us (which was expected)wasn’t as bad but seen a few groups trying to give it to groups of City fans at the Tube stations etc.. another lot saying how s**t our support is yawn yawn yawn .
