FA Cup SF | Liverpool | Sat 16 Apr 15:30 | Travel, Ticket & Pub Discussion

Give them a chance there are two games they have to schedule on two days. That's a lot of planning, it's not something that can be done in a day. I still reckon that they want the London teams playing on a Saturday and our game on a Sunday but because the wall pushers play Tuesday and Everton at home on the Wednesday it's too difficult to sort as Everton play Leicester who are already playing on the Sunday so they won't agree to move game so the FA have screwed up by allowing Sky etc to pre determine dates
The Leicester game was being moved with or without Sky as they’re in the europa conference quarter final thing on the preceding Thursday.

50 coaches really doesn't make that much of an indentation - clearly City and Liverpool are having issues securing extra coaches for Easter weekend as no doubt many will already be earmarked for other trips - but we can't blame the clubs as they're not the ones responsible for this shit show. This one is on the FA. Fucking incompetent twats.
Our local OSC branch is struggling to find coaches, the agreement with the local company only covers home PL games and we were scheduled to be at Wolves on the 16th so with it being a holiday weekend their coaches have already been hired out.

I was thinking more about the rags game on the Tuesday. For that to be on the Wednesday like all other rearranged games that week it would have meant Neverton finding another date for their game on Wednesday as police won't allow both teams at home on same night. If Neverton can find another date then the wall pushers can play Wednesday then we can play Sunday which is when I think the broadcasters want the game but it isn't possible. I can only think the delay is because of this and the FA trying to find a way around it by moving other games. Delay can't be because they are trying to find a few coaches surely.

Which brings us back to the stupid decision to play Easter weekend.
They knew there were no trains, they know motorways are heaving every Easter and they surely knew coaches are in high demand.

I read that they estimate 2,500 from each team would have gone on the train so they probably dont think it is significant enough to justify playing at OT. Not sure where they get those numbers from as you're never asked if you're going to wembley when you book a train ticket to London.

For anyone who can get to Leeds quickly myself and the lad can get from there to Kings Cross for £42 return on either the saturday or sunday with a railcard, so we're going to do that.

Then organise a boycott! Or take it up the arse from the fa. Simple choice for the branch organisation

1 train would've covered it!
This Country, total fuck up.

City Tweet.

Manchester City has secured an initial 50 coaches to operate a day trip travel package for the FA Cup Semi-Final against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium over the weekend of 16/17 April.
This follows Network Rail’s announcement that there will be nationwide rail disruptions during the Easter Weekend, which means that direct train travel from Manchester to London Euston is unavailable.
Coach tickets will be priced at £40 per person, and further information about how you can purchase a seat and a match ticket will be issued next week.
The match will be played on either Saturday 16 or Sunday 17 April, with the date and time of kick-off still to be confirmed by the FA.
Assume though a train is not an option as the line is closed due to engineering works so any club train would face the same issues as the scheduled avanti West Coast trains

The only line affected is the WCML from MK to Euston.

Other routes unaffected and a train can run and join the Chiltern route to Wembley Stadium.

Or even into other London termini at a push.

It's possible but unlikely nowadays

I've said it year after year when they put semi and finals at stupid times where there is either a rush or no chance of getting the last train if it goes to extra time and penalties.
Have a look at one of the main fa partners
National express. Says it all for me
