Does anyone think there's a chance of more tickets being released? I mean, genuinely?
Looking on Wiggin's website and they're still on open sale. I'm contemplating getting a ticket in their end but if they've still got thousands left 3-4 days before the final, would the FA rather there be empty seats on show or give them to us?
Still have a gut feeling that 526-524 are largely unaccounted for! I am fairly certain these tickets were never given to Wigan even though they are the 1st three top tier blocks on the East side of the South Stand. Now it maybe that a lot of these were used by the FA for their allocation to people who were prepared to be classed as Wigan/Neutral.
From what I know, the take up on these tickets, was appalling. They are not freebies and cost the occupants £65/85 and as such will only be of interest to genuine fans. Facts are though, Non native Wigan fans are as rare as hen's teeth!
Therefore don't be surprised if these are sold as Neutral seats via the FA from Monday.
I was asking myself the same question but for the whole of blocks 516 to 526. That is the entire south east corner, level 3 which must be circa 7000 to 8000 (say) seats. My son and I were down the day before the semi and staying at Wembley so took a trip to the ground before Millwall v Wigan and ended up getting 'hospitality' (?) tickets in the Millwall end for £30 off a tout. There were no tickets for sale at ticket office, but we already knew that. The point is these same third tier tickets, as mentioned above, were allegedly neutral tickets but were almost entirely empty! City now have level 1 tickets (block115 SE corner) right next to Wigan fans so can't see this as a valid excuse for not offering to us on top tier. Does anybody know who these tickets have been allocated to (not Wigan according to their website and map) as I would've thought 'FA family' tickets, where required, will be the three blocks next to the players tunnel on level 1 Wigan side?
My cynical (?) guess is that some or all of these tickets have been held back for following reasons:
1. To create a market for CAT 1 £115 tickets from City fans so FA can squeeze top dollar out of us. A successful strategy today has proved.
2. To similarly prop up the price that Club Wembley member 'touts' can charge for their seats.
Just my own thoughts and possibly will only have my theory confirmed or otherwise on match day. I sincerely hope I am wrong.
