you was toothless and did not set out to win but try and beat them on pens ? moyes put the better players on the
bench. when look at united back 4 you must fancy your chances and they rested the golden boy and Cavani

west ham had no desire to win forget not having Antonio ? play a system pep uses a false 9 or rotate the wide men
Fredericks Lanziniat Benrahma look good players and moyes should have started them and have ago

would you be saying this had we scored a winner in injury time from Dawson’s header ?

I suspect everyone would be full of praise for holding Man U out and restricting them to very little chances.

Teams set up like this and can win (Mourinho whole career and has won countless trophys) , other teams ‘go for it’ and can also win or get stuffed.

It’s a fickle game.

i could understand it if it was a premier league game but not a big FA cup tie ? you get one chance
when you have utd on their knees with a poor defences and the better players on the bench to right you have to go for it. moyes has never won anything as manager only a 2nd div title for preston and you can see why ?

i was brought up on watching the west ham playing the game in the right way and never parking the bus killing the game and hope for a lucky goal from a set play ? fuck me even david cross could play on the floor and was a great striker ? but was also a big target man you could hit and play from the 2nd ball that's west ham

also your wrong about Mourinho its only in the later stages he become a park the bus manager. when at chelsea the first time around they was a great team and control games after going 2 or 3 up and nothing wrong with that

its defo a funny old game ? but it still remains the game we all love

You make good points and it's an interesting discussion.

we've had managers that try and play the mythical 'west ham way' - which is some fantasy land where we play barcelona style football and even though we lose, we're still happy. that is simply not the case. the 'west ham way' is complete rubbish, every fan wants there team to 'go for it' and try and win.

Recent years we've had Pellegrini, Bilic, Grant, Zola .. they all wouldn't be tagged as a Moyes type manager.. but what did they ever achieve ? they might have set up in a more attacking manner, but we walk away getting stuffed 3,4,5-0 on a regular basis - no fan is happy with that, and we all moan and boo when the final whistle goes.

if we park the bus and win that's still a game i love, why not appreciate the defensive tactics to win a game, i love watching teams that can do that, Brighton away at Liverpool was a great example, Liverpool could just not break Brightons defense and Brighton snatched a goal - did anyone moan about there tactics of having 11 men camped inside there own box all game ?

Moyes changes the system to suit the game, we have played some amazing attacking football this season - and it's been fantastic, yes in hindsight its easy to say we should have just 'gone for it' , but the reality is different when your up against a team that has so much better players, especially in the attacking side. we really have no one up front.

another day, we could have snatched a result there yesterday playing the same away.
 
West Ham were a let down against the Rags and Dippers but when you consider these two have both spent over £500m on their squads maybe only to be expected , Hammers are a frustrating team and if they had shown any sort of ambition they could have won both games,Moyes got his tactics wrong.

the game was there to win last night for west ham ? utd coming off a poor result vs everton
their back 4 leaking goals every game and resting the best players utd was only 30% in it to win

finishing high up in the premier league is utd target not the cups. they need a top 4 place or better. going out of champions league and having to play thursday night in europa league united can not play a full team in the cups
and west ham should have smelt blood and gone for it

Fredericks Lanziniat Benrahmaare are good enough to play and take it to utd poor defence ? even win some free kicks and more corners going forward and your in the game

moyes bottled it or maybe did a deal with the devil in getting a loan player jesse lingard ? moyes setup was a puzzle and looked like losing ? nobody gets anything for free ? loan players are wrong in the premier league between clubs and it stinks
 
Extra time and pens Everton win please.

Don’t want to wish injuries so Spurs to get 3 red cards all to Kane, Son and Hoeburg or whatever he’s called.
