But the bigger story here is one of an MP who might be persuaded to 'help'. What rallying to the cause means is yet to be discovered, but a question in the House of a piece in the paper wouldn't go amiss! if it would help to go and see him (say at his surgery) I'd be more than pleased to do it, if you want to suggest that when the time feels appropriate.

And of course if Mark Hunter might help then so might other MP's. Have we got any volunteers out there who are willing to approach their MP - I can knock up a press release of sorts if needed.

Just replied to Mark

"Mark

Thanks for your reply. Hope you take a look as things have more on quickly in the past few days, there are now plans to set up a dedicated website possibly www.fawatch.org.

I remember in the past hearing about a City supporters' club based in the House of Commons, is that still current? and if so can you let me have the names of the MPs who are members or alternatively City supporting MP's. In due course the plan is to get fans of other clubs involved so any House of Commons related football groups especially non "Big 4" contacts you could let us have would be appreciated."

I'm not too confident about how Mark Hunter MP can help. Sorry to be a bit negative but, in Cheadle and Gatley (his constituency) there are many plastic rags. With an election looming, raising his profile with a city born mission, may make him sway towards having second thoughts about getting involved. So to avoid this, can I suggest that fa watch web site gets clearly branded as a general supporters web site.

Re Mark Hunter MP - he's a top guy and always gets my vote. Didn't know he was a blue... get in!

Oh it will be bluesoup, because we genuinely want it to be.

I understand the politics of what you say though.

On a more general note, there's no one on here more giddy than me at the moment, but even so i'd better reiterate that the new site will be a time in development and that we'll let everyone know at soon as it's ready to go live.

Back in the day, there was a Westminster branch of the OSC. I joined when I started working for the government in 2001 but it had been up and running for a year or two before that. It was run by a couple of guys who were Ministerial Special Advisers (or SPADs in Westminster speak), but they basically ran out of steam and it folded. The two MPs who were in it were Paul Goggins and Ivan Lewis. Don't know if it would be worth an approach to them.
