Fabian Delph

Had we not needed HG players we wouldn't have signed him.

I am a little surprised he is happy to move on with the Euro's around the corner because this move could be international suicide.

And make no mistake, in such a scenario we'd be the ones that cop the flak for it, rather than Delph for making the wrong move at the wrong time.

I understand the move from our perspective, if it's to be a squad addition as Damo argued previously, but if we've given him assurances that he'll be an integral part of the side then we're fucking nuts, IMO. Wouldn't understand the move at all, in that context.

This is why I think it will all end in tears and he will be gone within 2 seasons. We've promised something we can't deliver just to get him to sign for us and make up the HG numbers. Once the penny drops and he's warming the bench for every CL and PL game against the big teams he will start to moan about lack of football.

We've promised him a major part. What the fuck is a major part?

Milner played near enough 50 games and it wasn't enough for him, Fernando played 30 times and is happy.

Unless he thinks a major part means he's starting every week then he'll be fine. He's a big boy, he knows how good he is and how good our players are, and if he wants to back himself and try and get into a CL team then good on him, that's his decision to make.

If Delph is our alternative to Pogba I'll fucking cry.

This seems a little excessive. Paying 72m for someone who's actually pretty inconsistent is maybe less sensible than signing Delph (homegrown and has his best years ahead of him) for 8m who will improve in our side and will improve the central midfielders in the squad through competition. Buying Sterling and KDB as well as Delph would amount to a very successful transfer window IMO

No, but:

Let's just hope that means no Pogba.

If you've been following the news most journalists with more inside knowledge haven't thought Pogba would come to City for weeks. Looks like he'll stay at Juventus for another season then go to Barcelona

Our central midfield will still be rubbish in the big games.

We need a world class central midfielder to real;ly progress on if you ask me, scoring goals has never been an issue under Pellegrini.

He is coming because he is ambitious and wants to win things...

He is never going to win anything at Villa..

Fantastic signing, with his work ethic i can see him becoming a cult figure with the City fans..
This is so true, a much better player than many think he is. Fantastic engine on him, hard working, good on the ball, and an eye for a pass. Pisses all over Fernando already and can only improve when surrounded by better players.

Somebody better tell Simon Mullock that
