The reality should never get in the way of a tv coucher. ;)
Just playing devils advocate- you're son in law hasn't seen Fernando play every week (as he is at the villa games) presumably. As such, just because he raves about him, doesn't mean he will be better than Fernando/you will rave about him.

We have been lucky enough to watch a far, far higher standard of football than villa fans. Fernando may stand out in that team.

I actually think Delph is a great signing for
£8m, but just pointing out that just because a villa fan raves about him, doesn't mean he is an instant upgrade. Like I said though, I'm
Playing devils advocate- I'm happy with this signing. Really hope it works out.

I wonder if the weight of expectation on Delph will be tempered if we recruit our other targets. Rodwell, Sinclair, even Adam Johnson, to an extent, struggled with being the bright young things and their respective careers have drifted as a result. Delph faces a considerable challenge to break into the team and to break the pattern, so I hope he has the necessary determination and enjoys the fans' patience to see it through.

I don't know a single villa fan who aren't gutted by him leaving but to leave on the terms he has, is a disgrace. All that loyalty and my club crap in January is disgraceful.

I'd of rather he'd of fucked off on a free.

You're getting a very good player for 8 million especially in today's market. He was our best midfielder but that's hardly a good thing in such a terrible team that we've had the last few years.
He's had some bad injuries which have hampered him. He'll certainly be not good enough to start for you.

The previous comment about him being better than Milner is utter shit though. Milner was a fantastic box to box cm for us who scored goals and and did the tidying up that Delph does. We certainly won't miss Delphs' goals!

Has got nowhere near Barrys' intelligence either. He can run around though. Loves a tackle especially one that usually results in a yellow card.

Great signing is a bit ott he's a solid squad player
A great signing for £8m. To get a solid, England international for 8m is an
Absolute steal in this market.

He won't be our Only midfield addition, which is why I specified "for 8 million".

Just remind us,how many PL yellow cards did he receive last season ?

Its funny with Sterling the media are using the 'City ruining football' with money and that the player is a twat, with Delph no mention of the money as he's cheap but using the English players graveyard line.

I think he'll be a descent signing, no player perhaps with the accept our spine can expect to start regularly and even then have to perform. if he improves/puts the performances in he'll get loads of game time.
