Nonsense ! He has had a very good season and was good last season too. He always stands out when I watch Villa. High energy and technically good.

Would he get in Bayern, Real's or Barca's squad? I would say no.

If we want to be the best we have to think like those clubs, a player like Fabian Delph is a decent player but he is no where near good enough to be even a squad player for us in my opinion.

Scott Sinclair looked a decent player for Swansea, look what happened there.

I think Hughes made a late move to get him but Ken Bates had a downer on us - I think we had stolen a few youth players from Leeds - and he wouldn't hear of Delph transferring to us. It's taken time for Delphi to find his feet at Villa - he must have been there four or five years.

We were linked with him before his Villa move,if I remember rightly,acording to some on here,it was along way down the line but Delph fancied his chances more at Villa......we then made a move on Rodwell.

I would hope we sign someone more consistent,he still goes missing far too much for me.

Deal was all agreed but Ken Bates gave his word to Villa.

A Marwood attempt, as was Raheem Sterling, to be fair.
