I disagree. If we were interested in signing Delph it was because we saw a role for him in our squad, and not because he was cheap and home grown. It was somebodies job at our club to sell Manchester City to him, and to be honest that shouldn't have been a hard sell. The chance to win trophies, to play alongside the likes of Silva, Yaya and Aguero, to play against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, to play his part in the extremely exciting future that lies ahead at our club, to explain what his role would be and that he would be given plenty of chances to prove his worth. At the end of the day the lad has chosen to play mid-table football (at best), at a club that has zero chance of competing for the title or being in Europe. That's a piss poor decision by Delph and a shit sales pitch by the club.
