How strange of me to think that Jack actually won a PL Title and a League Cup whilst he was with us.

Ah yes, contributing significantly with his 1 league start that season, indispensable to the side. Proving the team was better without him, as when he did make it on the pitch the previous season, he cocked it up regularly.

Also strange that he contributed in helping us win the double with 5 PL games,3 League Cup,1 FA Cup and 1 UEFA irrespective of how many times he played as sub.
If you`re gonna talk bollocks at least get your facts straight.

This lad is outstanding value at 8-10m and at 25 coming to the peak of his playing years, probably won't start but great to come on for the last 20 to shut a game down, loves a tackle and has got stamina to burn

he is good value bearing mind transfer fees these days. to me he's below what we should be looking at but for a home grown player is great business should we get him.

all that said has anyone thought about the lad himself ? the entire football world know he's not going to be a starter for us, he'll win stuff of course but he will rarely get a game.he'll lose his england spot to boot. not sure its fair we dangle a carrot in front of him and then bench him. he's in his prime and the lad needs to play. if he does come and he dislodges any of yaya, fern and co then bloody good luck to him.

I wonder if some of the home grown players will tell the bigger clubs to fuck off? It's Affirmative Action for some of them, going for ludicrous fees just because they are classed as home grown. I'm sure Delph would rather play regularly than be sat on a bench - yes, he'll earn more, but he's still going to be a millionaire playing for Villa.

It's fair enough to think that Delph isn't good enough, but to compare him to Rodwell is ridiculous. Even Everton fans were surprised when we signed him. He was hardly a key player for them, he was still a promising youngster. Delph is basically the driving force of Villa, and for large parts of the season, the only decent thing about them.

But people complain about the press portraying us as ruining english players careers and then people want us to buy a england international just for the bench, just in case we have hypothetical injuries in a key game.
Do you genuinely give a shit about that? It's the FA's fault that we're forced into buying him, not ours.

agree with this. rodwell was a terrible buy. delph is ten times the player.

If we get all our targets where is he gonna play? He's not fit to lace Yaya, Pogba or Dinho's laces so he's not going to be taking their places in the team. I understand we need home grown players but I just see this being another "City ruining English talent" signing where he just warms the bench.
Yaya is not fit enough to play twice a week. others might get injured. Plus the carling and fa cup. He'd have plenty of games.
