He is a right-back. So he wouldn't be the answere.

I hope Coentrao doesn't want to go to Bayern. This isn't confirmed yet. Only goal.com and some portuguese shit papers report this.

Hopefully it was never even happening.
Players always want to go to bigger clubs. It is just the nature of things. Just like I would want to go work for a bigger firm with bigger perks. Players are the same. They are human. If Google Legal comes for me today, and offer me 2ice my salary, longer vacation days and training seminars in cool European countries. Ofcourse I will lose my current firm like a bad rash. It is not like I don't like my firm, I do- and I love my work. I just think life would be fuller and more entertaining at a better organization. And footballers are even more moveable than regular workers. So if Bayern has put in an offer for him, and the club agrees to it. It is unlikely they he would reject it.

I am bummed already coz I sense we have lost out on him :( I don't really think Wiel is a target either. Chelsea are bigger fans than we are. Now I can only hope I was wrong about Kolarov and he happens to be a stud in all facets of the game, but I was too dumb to see it :)

It would be a happy time accepting my dumbness :)

But...he can wait to summer. Im sure he knows there will be tons of clubs after him in the summer.

It's not like Bayern is his only opportunity. Hopefully he will wait to summer and then look who wants him. Then he can choose.

Hopefully we are going for him.

True, he can. But this often happens when players have a specific club in mind that they really want. Otherwise they just want the whole transfer saga sorted so they have security. Generally, the earlier you can get a commitment, the better. I mean the commitment doesn't mean he can't back out. It just gives him peace of mind. But once you commit, the team starts working around the clock for your arrival, and you start getting stuff about the team. New teammates send you text asking "You coming? Sweet!!" Before you know it, you already feel like a member and don't want to back out ;(

Fuk! I am causing myself more grief!! :(

Not sure about that. Not many portuguese players are playing in germany.

I hope he doesn't go to germany. It's a good league but still not that followed. He would get much more profile if he came to the PL/Serie A/La Liga.

I bet he would love to come to England. Here the portuguese players succeed. (Ronaldo, Nani, Meireles, Carvalho, Ferreira, Deco etc)

2 days ago they reported that a deal was close. Now it's quiet. I seriously think it was only a rumour.

Bayern will probly be watching at defenders from the german league.

BlueCityfan, Ojogo is the Benfica Press, and not shit. Not only Goal.com covered it, every German Press did. And when it is "quiet" then the Bayerns Managers or President is cooking something. They dont leave leaks, they do have much more Connections, are having respected everywhere. Hoeneß is one of the best Managers in the world, and now in Jupp Heyneckes has also a Coach who was Ex-Benfica Coach.

They only didnt buyed him last Year, because Van Gaal sayed he dont need new Players.

Well ok..are you portuguese or german? :D But i dont believe it's going to happen till it's confirmed.

Also..these big transfers aren't made outside the window USUALLY.

But sometimes yes...i wonder if City are working on transfer behind the scenes now. I dont believe that "Sanchez to city" thing either.

why are Chelsea in on van der wiel? Ivanovich-Luiz-Terry-A Cole is the best back 4 in the league I think.

They probly dont want to use Ivanovic as an right-back. They want him to play as a CB. Then they would probly rotate Alex/Terry/Luiz/ivanovic...

They would have too many good defenders if they bought Wiel IMO. So they might struggle a bit. They need to offload.

I think Ferrerra and the other Portueges right back are being let go.

Succession planning. Terry isn't getting any younger and is suffering more injuries
