I bet the Bayern deal was bullshit. There is no talks now. I think his future will be decided in the summer.

Coentrao looks great going forward but playing for Benfica and Portugal he's hardly ever been tested defensively or on a consistant level. He's never played more than 26 league games a season and for someone who is already 23 that's pretty damn poor. Everyone on here seems to see the good side of players but it means nothing unless they can produce it in the Premiership week in week out.
We currently have one of the best left backs in Europe who has had a tough first season considering he was injured for the first 3 months of the season and has never had the chance to rebuild that core level of fitness. Next season he will improve and show us that we have no need for a replacement left back. I'm not saying Coentrao isn't a great player but whoever we buy will need time to adapt to the Premiership. Let's show a bit of faith in the players we already have.

Heh...maybe Usain Bolt should teach him to run.
Anyways...he is single LB and LB spot definetly needs 1 more LB. Because if Kola gets injured...Zabba have to play there.
But i wuld rather take someone better than Kola than just a cover for him.

Why is the city mentality to have 2 world class players for every position? If we have both Coentrao and Kolarov, one of them isn't going to be content with sitting on the bench. This nonsense of "we need another left back for cover". We have Zabba and Boateng so we don't need another one for cover at all, you just use that excuse to justify replacing Kolarov.

It's early days mate,but world class and Kolarov in the same sentence...?
Realistically,decent back up at best.

World class is used too much. And Kolarov isn't world class. And i dont think Kolarov would mind to be alot more on the bench. He has played almoste every game for us since his injury.
Coentrao could also cover the wing. So they could even be used same time on the pitch.
