Fabio Coentrao

Anyone who says we don't need another leftback needs their heads testing.

We do not have cover for Kola, yes Zab can play there against lesser teams but if we had to play him in a CL game against quality opposition with pacey wingers he would get skinned. Cunningham in my opion is not ready to provide cover and is recovering from a broken leg! Boateng is a CB and Lescott just doesn't cut it at leftback. As for Coentrao he would be a more suitable wingback than kola. If we played 442 then Kola could play leftback and Coentrao as a left winger. And finally Coentrao could play in Barrys position with Kola at LB if you still wanted to play a 433. Coentrao will cost around 25mill and for a player who at 23 can give us so much on the left side of the pitch is a no brainer.

And finally for all the Baines fans Coentrao is I'm afraid to say a better player already and will only get better.
 
i think both players have different attitude on the skills but i like them if we have both i would be pleased but i think any one will do for sure.
 
I think either Jose Enrique or Coentrao is going to be our target this summer.

But there is Aly Cissokho who is also a good left-back..and Baines.

I dont think Baines is an option because Mancini likes to sign physical players. And he clearly prefers his back 4 to be strong defenders. Who are a threat in corners and can defend set pieces.

Baines is 1.70cm...and he is one of those shorter full-backs. And we all know that Mancini likes physical players.

Coentrao is 178cm..i guess thats enough. And he is strong enough to be good in the air. Coentrao is also fast and a very good crosser.

Aly Cissokho is 181cm..he is a very strong and fast left-back. But i dont think he will be our target.

Jose Enrique is 184cm..and he has got the pace, good crosser..very strong player. A Mancini kind of player IMO. He is also proven Premier league player. And when/if he moves in the summer to a big club...he will probly get that left-back spot in Spain national team.

My favourite is of course Coentrao...but i wouldn't mind Enrique, because he is spanish and has got a good pace and crossing. And very physical.

Same goes for Coentrao..but Enrique is a bit more physical. But i also think Coentrao is a little bit better tackler.

But im sure a left back will come. Because Mancini wants 2 quality players there.

With Kolo gone Onouha wont go anywhere unless we're going to sign another centre back.

Isn't Boateng, Lescott, Boyata, Vinny enough? Sign another left-back: No more Zabba needed at left..and he will be used as right-back cover for Richards.

Then we dont need Boateng to play full-back unless it's emergency. And then we can let him play in his favourite position: Cb.

Boyata looked class and is good enough to be back-up..so is Lescott.

= Onuoha can be sold.

I would sign another CB but only if the lad is world class and my choice would be either Mats Hummels or Subotic. If we did get either of these then Kolo would have to go.
