I really wish people would stop putting Kolarov as a winger. He's an atrocious winger who lacks pace and ball skills to do anything out wide. Yes, he can whip in a cross, but there's a lot more to a winger's game than that and he's pretty much awful at all of it. He's been absolutely brutal whenever he's asked to play out there, it's not his role.

his best position IMO would be part of a midfield 3, but he still wouldn't be good enough for us considering the cover we have there. He's not great at left back, but he's not terrible for a backup, so I would mind if he stays but would obviously much prefer Coentrao.

How much do you reckon RM would want for this guy 15m if we could get 3-5m for Sinclair and just get Kolorov off the books with say 5m paid for him next year would mean in effect got a great player for about 8m overall which sounds too bloody good to me, revises 15m upwards by at least another 5m, even so 13m for a quality left back who likes to attack down the left and balance things up. Surely our Spanish duo must be aware of this?
I don't think Manchester City will ever pay 15mil to get cover for Clichy.
I would expect a young, probably Spanish or South American, player to come in.
Somewhere in the region of the price of Clichy or lower.
Coentrao will not play 2nd fiddle, neither will Gael.

Pretty sure his agent is Jorge mendes,values him at €16mil - €18 mil
Coentrao only makes £35,000/week net at Real Madrid. How much this is before tax I'm not sure - what is Spain's tax rate? But to match those wages in England, we would have to pay him around £70,000/week which is £20,000+ less than Kolarov who is less than half the player Coentrao is. But we haven't been linked with Coentrao at all. As a Jorge Mendes guy, I think United (if they can't get Baines), Monaco, Chelsea or Napoli (because they are buying loads of Real fringe players) are possibly destinations.

I have a feeling we will look at the South American market for a Kolarov replacement, but if we were to look in Europe we have to be looking a Coentrao.
Clichy/ Coentrao - Zabaleta/ Richards is a great set of full backs.
