Fabregas

He's basque he won't go anywhere but barca now.

To suggest anything else shows a complete lack of understanding of his nature.

Maybe the stupid twat shouldn't have left them in the first place if he was so desperate to play for them.

They let him go and a top side were offering him first team football. At the time it was the right call. Expensive mistake by barca.

You make it sound like they were happy to let him go which I don't think was the case at all. And although it is arguable that he made the right move for his career in moving, I am working on this notion that it is his dream to play Barcelona. He left when he was 16, he never even gave it a chance. And it's not like they don't give their youth team players a fair crack of the whip at Barcelona. It's all bollocks, when he thought it was better for his career to turn his back on Barcelona, he did, so I'm not convinced at all that it is Barcelona or nothing. He might well end up there but I reckon he would be open to a move elsewhere.

Well lets see what happens. I can't see him going anywhere but barca personally.

Right now RM is 5 players over the 25 man squad man rule in Spain (yes they have the rule too). If the did buy him, the would have to sale 6 players. Personally I think, they are just making Barca pay more.

This may explain Real's apparent bid for Fabregas:

I think its more along the lines of Real are trying to sabotage Barca's transfer business in a variety of ways - and the only way with Fabregas might be to bid so high that Barca can't get him (knowing, of course, that Fabregas probably would never go to Real if they were the high bidders anyway).

But what Real bid has nothing to do with Barca or Arsenal. i think it sounds more like barca is gonna blame Real sabotaging Cesc coming to barca because they cant afford. Barca president said the other day we are not gonna bid more than 35 million euros and his value has gone down. Not exactly the best way to try to sign Fabregas by saying to Arsenal....we are coming for your player and dont even dare to think about a fee more than 35 million euros.

Everyone knows Cesc wouldnt go to Real. What Barca doing is simply force cesc to hand in a transfer request so Arsenal accept their bid. So far its not working and I doubt he would ever hand in a transfer request

Hunter on SSN saying Real Madrid have stuck a bid in for Fabregas lol.

Also reckons Cesc will talk to City if Barca can't agree a fee with Arsenal.

Triple Arsenal swoop anyone? ;)
You do know Hunter basically says what the spanish gossip papers says? He said last season its a done deal and he will be presented on saturday in a thursday evening. Saturday came and nothing happened. Earlier this week he said it would be a done deal this friday.....and now suddenly cesc will talk to other teams. The man will say whatever to get on tv

Barcelona's latest proposal for landing Cesc Fabregas involves paying Arsenal just £8.5million.

The Spanish giants' idea of paying just 25 per cent down of a £34m fee this summer - with the rest spread over three years - is unlikely to impress Arsenal, who want closer to £40m.

Fabregas, currently on holiday in Ibiza and keeping himself fit in a gym, is not expected to return to Arsenal when most of the squad come back for pre-season training on Tuesday.

He is hoping the two clubs thrash out a deal over the weekend which will mean the deal is announced on Monday and he is presented as a Barca player once more on Tuesday
----------------------------------------

Say what you want about Cesc, but for the media to tell us he will strike is laughable when
he said from his own mouth couple of weeks, I owe arsenal and Wenger so much and I would never do anything to harm them. The guy want to leave, but the reason why he may stay is barca dont have the money. Barcelona has done everything to convince Cesc and Sanchez to come out and force a move to barca, so their clubs are forced to accept what barca offers. Its dirty tactics and show their lack of class

I know Hunter spouts a lot of shit mate and I'm not really inclined to hang on his words - I just thought it was worth mentioning on here (Real's supposed interest) as it added an interesting twist to what has now become a boring transfer saga.

I agree Barca are taking the piss with the fee - Fabregas is easily worth £35-£40 million, perhaps more, and they should be prepared to pay the going rate.

Who cares - he's not coming here, so lets move on and talk about players who might......................

Don't get me wrong, I reckon it is his most likely destination and I am sure it is his favoured destination. I just cannot abide all this stuff about it being his dream and that he wouldn't consider moving elsewhere when he has already shown that he will do whatever is right for his career regardless of this "dream." I wonder if he would be insisting on Barcelona if they were mid table? personally I think we should at least have a go, I reckon fabregas could be persuaded.

Great points you make there mate. It does make you wonder how much Cesc really loves Barca. Maybe he's just a fair-weather fan - back in 2003 Barca weren't a patch on the team they are now and perhaps he found it quite easy to move on, without giving it too much of a chance as you say.

Now, all of a sudden, with them being the best team on the planet he wants to go back there. I wonder if he'd be quite so eager if Barca were at the level they were in 2003?

-- Sat Jul 02, 2011 8:52 am --

LOL - reading that last bit, it looks like we're thinking exactly the same thing.

That would be a huge waste of time.

The way Barca are tapping up players, talking them into saying "I only want to sign for Barca" but then putting in bids below their market value is disgusting.

If they want the players, they should be willing to offer the same money as other clubs are willing to pay rather than trying to intimidate the selling clubs into letting the players go cheap rather than having an usettled player on their hands.

It's a bad way to treat the players too. Promise them everything, then not sign them & leave their careers full of uncertainty. They should put up or shut the fuck up.
