This really smacks of Mark Hughes, when he just tried buy anyone he could.Eventually they'll get one, but this is laughable.Michu will be next...

"NEXT!". On to Modric... Sky Italy reporting United have contacted Real Madrid about him. Another potentially difficult one as Modric was Real's best player for the last few months of the season after finally settling. United seem desperate for a marquee signing as if to show Moyes has got 'it'.

It may come back and bite me on the arse but I have to say that I'm finding the rags window more than a little amusing so far.

Went to thomas cook to book next years hols today and got talking to the lady who was booking the holiday and she was going on about her partner watching every footy game on tv and my mrs replied "hes the same sky sports news you name it he watches it" Then the lady asked who i supported i said gods own team she "replied whos that i said "city of course".She said her husband used to watch the rags home and away but in the last ten years he has never been able to get a season ticket because of the demand.anyway he recieved an email of the club saying they now have a number of season ticavailable and he has now got one.it got me thinking are the fans already deserting now fergies gone and this pathetic pr drive for unatainable players is due to this?.There demise has arrived and our era is beggining and i cant wait.

I think you have been able to get them on general sale for a while now.

Mirror: United to bid £60m for Bale.

I'm laughing my arse off here. Where will the propaganda end? Are ST sales even worse than last season when they failed to sell out?

I would laugh but they are actually in a position of strength to pull it off if they sell Rooney and use that plus their kitty to pull it off. If they sell Anderson and or Nani then they could get Baines too and that would make them very strong in what has been a weakpoint for them.

-- Wed Jul 17, 2013 11:07 pm --

Trouble is Levy didn't do them too many favours when they signed Berbatov so who wants to bid for Bale are in for a rough ride.

They'll end up with some quality additions as they'll be the biggest fish left in the pond, and they have the money too.

That's what happens if you're late in the transfer mkt - you get to take the rich pickings off Real Madrid and Bayern etcs table. It's chancy that way, but they'll still be top players available

if they are after Modric, I feel sure they will get him as Real Madrid have signed two expensive midfielders. However Modric would imply a big change in playing style. Give and go instead of 30 yard diagonals to the wing

They also lack power in midfield - particularly if Rooney is sold. I expect Fellaini will come in too, but they will want to get some finesse in first, otherwise the reds will be howling.

Whatever they do, they will find it almost impossible to replace Rooney

Rags at work have gone very quiet last week or so.....it's gone from "Mourinho is coming and bringing Ronaldo back home, I'm buzzin" to "best prospect in Spain bang on to sign for us for fuck all, we've robbed Barca, I'm buzzin" to "never liked Rooney anyway,he's shit, glad if we get rid of him"......and the house of cards came tumbling down!

Bale will stay a player who wears white as he will end up at Madrid. Not even thinking of anyone else, sure as anything he will play for Madrid in 2014/15 barring a severe injury.

I just mean United will obviously have targets and will want a name to back Moyes but also lift the squad the way RVP did. Baines is a certainty, it's just the others. I go for Fellaini personally although Modric if possible would take a preference.
