Mirror: United to bid £60m for Bale.

I'm laughing my arse off here. Where will the propaganda end? Are ST sales even worse than last season when they failed to sell out?

I would laugh but they are actually in a position of strength to pull it off if they sell Rooney and use that plus their kitty to pull it off. If they sell Anderson and or Nani then they could get Baines too and that would make them very strong in what has been a weakpoint for them.

Rags at work have gone very quiet last week or so.....it's gone from "Mourinho is coming and bringing Ronaldo back home, I'm buzzin" to "best prospect in Spain bang on to sign for us for fuck all, we've robbed Barca, I'm buzzin" to "never liked Rooney anyway,he's shit, glad if we get rid of him"......and the house of cards came tumbling down!
Arguing at work for and against Rooney. Just sitting back and enjoying the noise

They should be basking in their Championship success and watching everyone else panic buy, but it turns out that they are blundering from one disaster to another.

Inevitably the cash will come out at some point, and their spirits will rise, but they havem't half made a pigs ear of it, and it will already have put a few doubts in their fans minds.

Does it matter though if we're both trailing Chelsea by 15 points? If CFC get Rooney, offensively they will be very very strong. The only weakness is an ageing defence.

I'm looking at Chelsea now as the danger for next season, and not Man Utd with or without Fabregas/Modric

I agree. Fabregas is no replacement for Rooney at Utd. But neither are the likes of Oscar & Mata of the same level as Mourinho's old midfield, likewise the defence & Rooney is no Drogba.

Neither side is a patch on what they were last time Mourinho was here, & that goes for Arsenal too.

Dont arsenal have first refusal? Can you imagine arsene saying no thanks?

Yes mate and can get him £10m cheaper than anyone else as part of the agreement when he went to barca. They obviously chose cesc anyway as they let thiago leave so no benefit to letting him go! We should just put in a bid for the shits and giggles off it!!
