Interesting. I noted China passed a law this week which limits the amount of gaming and social media people can use on a monthly basis, citing the preservation of Chinese culture and protecting kids?

Maybe they have flicked the switch and done us all a favour?

also reports of 1.5bn users data now on sale on hacking sites including users names addresses, phone numbers, contacts etc erc.

Almost certainly a scam and not an actual data breach.

The problem seems to be an infrastructure issue, made worse by how stupidly centralised Facebook is.

The bgp session was removed. Bgp (border gateway protocol)is literally the engine of the internet. If you want to visit a website that has its physical server in brazil the bgp table decides what path to take in order to accomplish that request. Currently there is no intructions for the requests to access these sites, they are not being given directions how to get from a-b which they need.
