Fairer Loyalty Points Scheme?

some of you still dont get, some of us that went to nearly every game years ago are still doing the same today..i went before points were ever thought of, mind you in a few years you will be able to get a ticket, what with the ground expanding and the price rises to come..look at united fans, there favourite saying was,i would go, but i could never get a ticket, you dont hear them use that excuse any more cos if you look at their crowd, there are nearly always empty seats dotted around

My biggest gripe is not being able to get tickets for the Chelsea's, United aways etc when my intention is to go to any game possible. For two seasons now (since I got my own job and could fund myself) I've been to every game home and away that has dropped down to my points.

I know a guy who has been to two away games this season...yep, United and Blackpool. I've been to over 30 games this season, probably 14/15 away games, yet because someone has had longer to accumulate loyalty points, he can go to 0 away games yet still have the option to go United away.

I think a five year rolling system is a great idea. 10 years wouldn't make much difference to now. But those saying it isn't fair that if you went loads 10 years ago and they get wiped off, if you're still going regularly, you'll still be entitled to tickets. If you're not still going regularly, then why do you deserve a ticket over someone who is??

If anyone could come up with a 'fair' system for the allocation of the better away tickets, access to tickets for semis and finals, if the day dawns that we ever get to one, it'll be the only thing on the planet that is fair.

You cannot circumvent a system where those who spend their cash on buying ticket after ticket for nigh on every match are shoved to the side for some johnny-come-all-of-a-sudden-now-we're-in-a-semi!

Also, the chances are, I won't have enough points for United away until I'm around 30 in around 10 years. By that time, there's every chance I'll have settled down with kids etc and won't be going away games week in week. However, I'll have points to go United away. My one away game a season could be the derby, and that wouldn't be fair on the younger fans who go up and down the country week in week out whilst I'm sat at home watching on an Internet stream with my kids.

It really needs changing. It's worked up to now, but this situation was always going to happen once the system had been going for a number of years. It can't logically continue.

5 year rolling system. If you still go, it doesn't affect you. If you don't go as much anymore, you don't deserve tickets over someone who does, just because you're older

No. It's worked up to now because everyone started on a level playing field 10 years ago (or whenever loyalty points started).

It won't work anymore because younger fans are getting older and are having to start 5/6/7000 points behind someone who has been building points since it started

But not everyone started level

Fans are getting older they will die people with kids and families will stop buying season tickets your turn will come if it's in 10 years like you say well that's just tough

Yeah, I'm thinking 'queue jumper'!

how can this system now be getting fairer when someone who went over to kyev spent best part of £500 and gets 20 loyalty points where as someone goes to notts county at home and gets 50 to be doubled at the end of the season.for me loyalty points for matches should be based on cost ,farther away the game and dearer ticket price more points you get .

Loyalty is more about wanting to go to the shit games than the most popular

-- Fri Mar 11, 2011 9:52 am --
