Really don’t get what the issue is given the Pogues recorded a different version themselves anyway.

People can still listen to the original if they want to and I highly doubt the people annoyed by it are avid listeners of radio one anyway. Nor do I think the normal listener to that station would listen to the original and think when hearing that line “What an excellent commentary on the societal ills of the late twentieth century, I must do some research into the matter”...
