He can apologise all he wants but he should still be banned for as long is deemed necessary. What he did was wrong and he should be punished. However, I still hold a deep resentment towards the Police for how badly they handled his ejection. I'd have expected that from ShowSec.

Peoffrey...Why is it the old bills fault...He committed a criminal offence and was dealt with swiftly. It's rare I disagree with you mate but on this occasion I will have to.
The lad is a grade A **** who lost it because we got beat. He will regret his actions one day when he realises a lifetime ban.
It's his own fault. If he got a slap by a rag or a blue then that's the way the cookie crumbles.
If you can't take the heat......
Hopefully another genuine fan will get his season ticket and appreciate it.

They dragged him through the away fans which allowed him to take numerous digs. All it would've taken is a group of U****d to rush them and he could be seriously hurt. Four Coppers leading him out via the nearest exit and walking him around the Concourse if needs be would've been sufficient. Perhaps their intention was to humiliate him - but it was badly dealt with.

I actually don't care whether he sets foot inside City or not again but found the Police to be too heavy handed when Jar Jar or anyone else wasn't assaulted etc. Just how I see it.

I suppose all it's going to take is some **** pull a knife / weapon out on a player after they've got on the pitch without being restrained by Stewards. If they make an example out of each fan who runs on then it might make them think twice.

We all know what Derbys are like. It's just a kid who got upset and ran on. We have all seen stuff like this before. Remember the united fan who ran on and spat at Bellamy?

I remember a rag twat throwing a bottle at Bellamy at the swamp. You know, when Adam Teese was charged with the offence but acquitted due to a lack of evidence. Strangely, I don't recall arch rag Gordon Taylor getting all sanctimonious about that incident.

The irony of some of the comments on this thread.

The guy is a twat for running on the pitch and trying to attack Rio but yet it is ok for people to then attack this guy.

2 wrongs n all that...Stop trying to justify his actions or perceived lack of criticism of other clubs idiot fans. I'm not interested about Teese or any other clubs fans, just our own.
Remember the thread only last week about the city fans attacked by our own in Dortmund.
No difference mate. All fucking bellends who we need to ban from our club.

Foolish of police to drag him through the away fans anyway almost asking to be sued had serious injury occurred.

You have now qualified for an entry into "idiotic" post of the year.

Do you understand litigation, the law and what tends to happen when you break that said law.
"My lord,I would like to apply for civil damages for being lawfully restrained and escorted after entering the field of play unlawfully because the old bill took me out the wrong way"...

I'm glad the coppers did that. Hopefully he will learn his lesson. Fucking immature prick.

Justice was/will be done. I for one won't shed any tears over him. Good riddance.

he made the decision and will quite rightly suffer the consequences but to say he's dragged the whole clubs name through the mud is shite.

Try watching MOTD, SSN and the local and national news instead of CBeebies. Then you might see how everyone, and I mean everyone, is having a go at Manchester City Football Club - not the few idiots that were responsible for this but MCFC. They seem to have it in for us at the best of times claiming were buying success, ruining the transfer market and so on. Last thing we needed was something like this. Back to the old days, football doesn't need this - all being said about MCFC. These 'fans' are going to cost the club a lot of money at best. And you think banning them is harsh?

Not once have they said 'remember that it was a very, very small minority of the almost 45,000 City fans that were involved in this -the other 99.9% were well behaved and did nothing wrong so don't tar them all with the same brush please'.

get the noose out, it will all be forgotten in a couple of days when the media find another victim the leeds incident with that fan attacking the goalie was 10 times worse and that died its death after a couple of days

Leeds aren't anywhere near as big a club as we are. Nobody gives a shit about them - almost everyone wants City to fall on its arse thanks to the way the media portray us as ruining football, buying success etc.

How often do you see anything else about Leeds on the back pages? No transfer deals/targets, no training ground bust up stories, no new manager speculation.
I know where your coming from Dave but the authorities had a chance a couple of seasons ago to deal with this sort if thing, but the 2 incidents were at Trafford on Bellamy, that was all swept under the carpet, we all know why? If anyone thought that this wasn't going to happen eventually after what the red scum did on wembley way they were deluded, then you have Rooney doing exactly the same as adebayor nothing said, then you have the over reaction if their players like they had won the the league with the last kick, they wanted to intimidate they got the reaction, the hatred between the clubs will be even more valued than ever before, I will be honest and say I fkn hate that club but I would not lower myself to give them a reaction! You never here bobby insulting them not like the main antagonist, all you hear from Trafford is insults towards city, we take it they cannot!

No one is justifying anything. But at the end of the day it is a kid that has ran on the pitch. How is this different to all the other pitch invasions we have seen down the years?
