Fans going to Wembley for the Community Shield

Hilarious how the so-called attempts at a boycott had the opposite effect.
To be honest mate I don’t think there’s any link at all. Loads of non-Manchester based blues who can’t/choose not to go regularly would take the opportunity for a trip to Wembley. There’s blues dotted around everywhere and the numbers are growing fast.
I support the boycott and what it’s trying to do, but non-regulars will grab the chance to go.

I think people are overplaying the ‘non-Manchester’ blues thing.

I know about 30 City fans who don’t really go to games who all live in Manchester. A few go to FA Cup games and that’s about it. A few of them are going to this though. It was £25 for a ticket, they won’t get a cheaper game all season.

I have a French mate based in Manchester, goes to three or four home games a year and takes his two kids and missus to odd Cup game.

All four are going to Wembley for first time and they are making a weekend of it.

For me, it's a sign of the new fans we have attracted over the last five years and who are picking up the slack.

Those two kids are future blues for life. And this experience'll be magical for them. Jaundiced as we are, we just don't see that.

I am not going to the CS but I am going to Athens. I and others I know have boycotted the CS but I don't blame others who struggle normally to get tickets at all or with their families to snap them up.

We will do what we always do. Drive and park very (very) near the Green Man - been parking on same person's drive regularly; think I'm his best client (we've parked there twice since the FA Cup final for concerts). I can get home from Wembley in less than an hour on a good run.

From the south coast, I'm driving. Me, the lad & the Mrs (their first Wembley game). Dead easy, 90 mins up the M3, park at Richmond, straight on the Tube & Robert's your father's brother. Damn sight easier/quicker than the 500 mile round trip I do for home games!

May go early though & make a day of it, haven't decided yet...Nipper says he wants to see the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.
