Fans going to Wembley for the Community Shield

I think people are overplaying the ‘non-Manchester’ blues thing.

I know about 30 City fans who don’t really go to games who all live in Manchester. A few go to FA Cup games and that’s about it. A few of them are going to this though. It was £25 for a ticket, they won’t get a cheaper game all season.

Exactly. You need a purchase history of buying tickets last season (2 games min). This is pushed by the rag infested media. I know a few who werent going, then due to the criteria and the ability to take kids to sit with them have decided to take them to Wembley for their first time at a relatively reasonable cost.

This is good for City long term, its an event that will secure many younger supporters for life, that struggle to get to games now. I did support the boycott and I'm personally not going but on the flip side think its great for the next generation to be able to go!!

From the south coast, I'm driving. Me, the lad & the Mrs (their first Wembley game). Dead easy, 90 mins up the M3, park at Richmond, straight on the Tube & Robert's your father's brother. Damn sight easier/quicker than the 500 mile round trip I do for home games!

May go early though & make a day of it, haven't decided yet...Nipper says he wants to see the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.
Can I ask where you park in Richmond? We are staying in the travelodge next to the multi storey car park which I think is about £20.

Can any of you train guys explain why they always take 3 hours on a Sunday, compared to more or less 2 hours every other day?

I’ve asked before and had the answer, “diversions due to engineering works”. But surely they can’t be working on the same bit of track every single Sunday, for ever?

I think it is today with noise pollution on a Sunday Morning. Slower trains less noise.

Two tracks are closed from Euston to Hanslope Junction (north of Milton Keynes) from 20:00 Saturday to 12:00 Sunday each week. The lines being worked on (slow or fast) vary each week, so all trains are timetabled to travel over the slow lines to cover the worst case scenario.

Not going to this but I usually would drive to Kenton, park on the street for free and then tube it to Wembley Central
