Show off...I've seen the pics of your missus...;- )

Seriously though, I've a similar problem...I'm taking the good lady to the Philippines for Christmas and New Year to celebrate her finishing her PHD...however she was more than a little disturbed last night when I started ringing hotels to check what kind of cable they have and whether they will be showing the premier league while I'm over there...

Thankfully managed to find a top notch room with flat screen tv, cable, the works...and a view of the beach...so I can lie in bed and watch the footy while she lies on the beach...

...she complained about it until I hit her hard with "listen. either we do it like this, and I don't miss any City games, or we don't go. it's up to you..." She soon went back to just being delighted to have such a cool and generous boyfriend...

Interesting question about fan v supporters...
Haha, good man. Sometimes we men just have to help women realise what's important I think and I agree it is a great question in the OP.

*ahem*

T'other way round with me. I'd also add Ultras in the mix for those who never ever miss a game home or away. Fan is a bit below that. You can only be a fan of one club in my book. Supporter would be below that and could mean anything from regular attender to a few games a season and can be several clubs as long as they don't have a rivalry or regularly play in the same division. There's also glories, prawn sandwich eaters, armchairs, part-timers, and genuine foreign fan to throw in the mix.

I'd class myself as a fan of City and a supporter of Accy Stanley.

my brother is a rag, is lad, my nephew like me follows city, hes got a season ticket in the southstand. My nephew will never support anyone else, like me supports city. I know that for a fact cos he works for me and we constantly bang on about city at work. His dad never used to follow the scum, hes followed swansea and leeds utd. My brother played football at a dedent local level and has done some of his coaching badges.

For me my brother is just a footy fan, he started following the rags because they were playing good football,(whether us blues like it or not they are a good footballing side). When they fall to bits and their grip on the league has been released i have already told my brother that he will be asking his lad to get the tickets sorted for COMS. He is just a footy fan, there are many of them around and he fits into that catagory.

I think there is a difference.

Well supporters to me are people who go to the matches, who go to away matches, buy merchandise and basicly breath City or whoever it is.
Their are two type of fans, one kind who only support one club, watch them on tv or in the pub, post on forums etc and the other kind of fans who are like me, i like City, Arsenal, Manu, Newcastle, West Ham and Fulham, i post on most of these teams forums, watch all these teams games on tv or the internet etc and would like all these teams to do well.
I'm not the best kind of fan at all but i am quite lucky liking so many teams as i get to watch a lot of footy!.
