Does anyone remember the pelican landing on the cross bar? My dad swears this happend years ago.....

When you say years ago, would that coincide with the era of the hacienda, Acid and a heavy social experimental period with drugs ?

I also remember the pelican perched on the cross bar at Maine Road many years ago so your dad wasn't pissed. Think it had escaped from Belle Vue which was only a short flight away.
