Forgive me if I've missed it in the previous 33 pages, but a genuine, serious question for the OP which I don't think has been asked yet.
If you knew you were traveling over for the game, why didn't you reserve a seat yourself? Doesn't cost anything and would have saved yourself a lot of trouble, not to mention saved face on here?
I used to catch trains to Sheffield regularly and they are often tiny two or three carriage jobs and were always rammed

He shouldnt have even been on that train..he missed the earlier one due to beating up three old ladies in the station cafe who beat him to the last muffin.

if they incorrectly referred to it as a muffin, then he had every right. And old ladies go to sleep a lot, so easier, despite a possible wait.

Thinking back, yeah. But at the time I felt in the right.
