what might work is if four or five of us met up one evening this week and did a mini pub crawl? Sampling atmosphere, facilities, maybe talk to the manager?

I'd be up for that.

Your selfless willingness to take on the thankless task of trawling London pubs is utterly inspiring.

Well... it's a thankless task but someone has to do it.

What was that pub near Euston station that had the Dennis Tueart evening where Sunderland fans turned up - if you went, of course...........

Did they use The Sekforde Arms in Farringdon? I didn't attend as I was otherwise engaged but I can find out. Some of the Peeps in the London Branch will want to come to Pub meets when they're not at City.

It'd be great to get something started for 12/13.

Just found out; the pub is The Exmouth Arms at Stacross Street which is very near to Euston - it is a bit of a dive but I can't remember if they had a screen there..........!!

Out of interest is there any pubs in Essex where City fans meet up to watch the game?

Do the London branch run any transport to City home matches?

Pubs in Essex - The Essex and Suffolk Branch meet at The Horse and Groom which is just outside Chelmsford which is for branch meetings but not games as far as I know. Not sure if they meet for games as most travel up by car or train to the match.

London Branch and travelling to matches - yes, they travel up by train and get a group discount; membership exceeds 200...........

Thank you for the information I will have a look into that as a discount on travel costs would be ideal.

Drop me a PM if you need e-mail addresses for the Secretary and Travel people. You need minimum Blue Membership with priority for tickets and I think Membership only to travel. We take between 10 and 60 to matches on the train. All good sport.

PM Sent. Thanks for the help.

Back to the subject of pubs, I trek across the city from Paddington to Canary Wharf. The best place I've found to catch matches on TV isn't a City pub; it's the sports bar in Marylebone station which is normally full of plastics of all varieties but does drinkable ale and has a decent atmosphere and is a piece of piss to get to.

The City Pride's website still lists TV sports, though it also says it's 'straight out of Sardinia'....... I'm up for the crawl.
