American Civil War cards and bubblegum.
Omg. I loved them. Obsessed actually.

My brother still has the complete set. Unbelievable artwork on them and very gory showing a spy being hung and people dying in gruesome battle scenes. He also has the complete set of dollars that came in the packet and they still have that distinctive smell of the little pink rectangle of chewing gum.

You may also recall some other sets, Mars Attacks and Man From Uncle for example.

Seeing them now really transports you back.

For anyone who liked liquorice root, try Twinings Liquorice teabags. Leave them to stew and they taste just like liquorice root only without the twiggy element. I have a cup or two every day.

My mum used to buy one every Friday night and share it with me.
