Favourite Beer

We lived in Germany but often went on walks in Belgium or Holland and on one walk, all three countries crossing borders in 20 km in the woods. Replenishing lost fluids with Jupiler was a major part but lots of villages had great local beers too.
Shared driving. My mate or I would drive there with one of the wives driving back. Fair's fair.

I had the Duval Triple at 9.5% the other day . Beautiful drink . Lads at work can’t believe I drink beers this strong but I only have the 1 , sometimes 2 . Treat them like a bottle of wine - respect!
+1, although I've not tried the Duval triple

If I mention to people I know, that I have the (very) occasional bottle of anything over 5%, they look like I seem to drink meths/thinners/night nurse, simply because they once had a can of Carlsberg Special Brew/Tennents Super Strength, when they were 18. I can't get it through to them, that these beers (the former) are beautiful, tasty drinks, that are a joy to be SIPPED, and they don't feel like they're ripping your innards out, when you drink them.

You can never convert the ignorant.

Black Oil. Brilliant. Whisky Cask matured?
I wouldn’t mind giving that a go.

It really is superb. It's their Old Engine Oil (which is already a great beer) that's then matured in Scotch barrels.

Definite taste of Scotch. Quite smoky with a coffee taste. Just fantastic :-)

Not a session ale at 8%, more a beer to round off the evening.

You can buy direct from the brewery. Give it a whirl and then send me a thank you :-)

Err the car keys got mixed up sometimes.
Only kidding. With check points with beer every 5k plus bonus of pubs en route and then a foo more beers at the end this was serious international mobile boozing which we took very seriously.

Sounds like a nice Christmas tipple.
