Favourite, Non-City, players of all time?

Ronaldo at the 98 world cup in France (final not included), he was pure class!

and also against them red twats at the swamp in the Champs league for Real, when he got a hatrick! even the pricks gave him a standing ovation.

Duncan Edwards.... I saw him play in his last match at Trafford United before Munich, true class (sorry folks but in those days it was City one week and them the next)

Ian Rush
Kenny Dalglish
Gianfranco Zola
Jamie Carragher
David Ginola

p.s. I was a child when I saw Edwards play!!! :-)

maldini for me, i was lucky enough to see him play in euro 96. great defender. also robbie keane, tugay and dean saunders

Zola for me - I remember his last appearance at Maine Road, giving Schmiecs the eyes and leathering it in during a 3-0 walk in the park for Chelsea - he was untouchable that day. When substituted a standing ovation waas rightly afforded by the city fans which was saluted by Gianfrnco himself.

In the age of footballers being the ultimate role models (and often letting themselves down) I remember Franco leaving Chelsea literally hours before Roman Abromovich came in. He was offered wads to stay to which Zola's reply was 'I'm given Bari (I think) my word'. And of he trundles without a regret in the world...What a guy!

Wish that the crowd at CoMS had the same humility as we did at Maine Road. How many times a season do you see us now shoing respect for other players - it used to be quite often I seem to remember. That said, the reception Ronaldinho got with Barca for the friendly to open CoMS was exceptional.......can't begin to think why!!!!
