Don't remember the 1970 WC and can't remember where I left my glasses half an hour ago but I can clearly remember throwing myself to the floor in despair as Muller swivelled for Germany's second! Given we weren't Dutch my poor mum was very confused why I was getting so upset!‘74 Cruyff, the birth of total football. Can still hear those claxons… should probably see a doctor
Every kid who was into football, who wasn’t German, wanted Cruyff and the Dutch to win. Looked promising after the early penalty but, like you say, der bomber ruined it - what a great striker he was.Don't remember the 1970 WC and can't remember where I left my glasses half an hour ago but I can clearly remember throwing myself to the floor in despair as Muller swivelled for Germany's second! Was imenese, that Brazil side was awesome, the only player missing due to injury, was José Reinaldo de Lima known as Reinaldo or Rei (The King). Remember BBC2 World About Us doing a documentary on him a few months before that wold cup, guy was amazing.82 for me. A football mad 11 year rushing home from school each day to watch every game absolutely mesmerised by the Stars of Brazil, Argentina and Italy.
Remember keegan missing that free header to put England through against Spain like yesterday.
